The last day of April!

I took a while for the weather to clear up and provide some nice days of flying. I mounted the Jewel generator system with 2 super bright LED’s and a volt meter. Now was the time to see if this system would charge my LiPo…a Relion 5200mAh square pack that needed charging. I met the guys (Bob and Mark) at Mr. C’s for breakfast and we talked about what we wanted to accomplish for the day. We arrived at our practice field only to find park flying plankers...

RC Freak Episode 67: 2/3 More than Before

Posted 04-20-2014 at 02:00 PM by Dicey

Hello all,

I know it has been awhile since the last show, but this is a good one. I've got new co-hosts Gus and Richard with me to talk about their flying experience. And then, we talk about torque tubes vs. belts. Remember to follow us on twitter: @rcfreakpodcast and to e-mail me

Let us know what you think and talk to you in two weeks!

And it is still on iTunes, though the old show downloads probably don't work.

New feathering shaft fitted and new top shaft holder bearing.
Find notchy bearing in head (Internal bearing next to thrust)
Change out the small external head bearings on both sides too.
Two good flights- windy and difficult to roll neatly. Too much negaive pitch applied plus rudder input.
Vibes around 0.7
Change out tail drive shaft after flight for a new one.
Shorten the Collective/rudder tick length on DX7. This is in an attempt to stop giving rudder...

The rest of the build…

After installing the PEM nuts, it was time to install the fuel tank. I looked at the overflow nipple and main fuel line wondering how I was getting those to pass through the frame. The tank is not that flexible, so I couldn’t press in on the tank to make the overflow nipple slip under the frame opening. So I tried twisting the tank in…and it worked! It slipped in very easy…now good luck with getting it out should the need arise! I wire-tied the vent line close...
