Guys there is stuff being worked can say what or time table yet. but there is stuff in the works. Right now there is nothing wrong with running patch cables on a full size rx.

I really hope they come out with something soon. I would have already bought the A9 but have been hopefully waiting for 2.4 native, support for 3 axis gyro somehow (not by using full receiver, more like a SAT or S-BUS), maybe an SD card, etc. The A9 has so many things going for it at a reasonable price but I have been waiting for an upgrade to the A9 with some of the things I mentioned. Just not sure how much longer I can hold off. There are some other very good radios for a bit more but I have really taken a liking to the A9. If they could even just say: here is what we are upgrading on the A9 and this is about how long its going to take, then that might be enough to make me wait.

I heard an interview with a guy from Hitec and he said the Aurora 9 replacement was coming out around September if I remember correctly. He also mentioned that the new radio would be addressing the "latency Issue" . I am waiting to buy the new FlagShip !

I'm not sure who Mike Mayberry is, but the interview I heard was with HITEC's national sales manager, Shawn Spiker. So he may know more than Mike or less. Tye |

Hi Alan,
That's great about Mike. Maybe he'd care to respond here about what Shawn had to say in the interview. It would seem that they are voicing different ideas.... Thanks, Tye |

It would seem that they are voicing different ideas... In what way? Whilst I am not privy to all that is happening in USA, have read most of the feedback and assumptions on various forums Post # 11 above pictures a Multiplex Profi and accessories which perhaps will be brought and revive the Multiplex Tx range later this year, as indicated in post #13 and as requested by many existing MPX users - a sticking point will always be the cost of FCC compliance. The Profi Tx is pictured on a Hitec stand no doubt because of the joint booth sponsorship, but it is not a Hitec unit nor compatible with Hitec systems, simply made by a company with the same common owner as Hitec RCD. As Mike stated, all future Hitec Tx will be backwards compatible. Have not received any indication, from Korea, to indcate that the Hitec system will be installed and released in a Multiplex case. In this way ...
Mike: Sorry, no official announcements at this time. Shawn: There will be a replacement for the Aurora 9 sometime during 3rd quarter of this year (2012). Tye |

an actual recording of what Shawn said. Given own knowledge of current production schedules and the logistics of getting any new transmitter, especially one which will supercede the A9, from factory to market within the 3rd quarter this year could not be met. As mentioned previously, Hitec is always working on new innovations and a replacement for the Aurora could be announced then. Alternatively the MPX Tx line may be revived in USA, but that is not a replacement of the A9. There is no way a complete replacement for the Aurora 9 could be on retailers shelves before 30Sep12. I went back and listened to the interview with Shawn again to refresh my memory.
He didn't say 3rd quarter....what he did say was towards the end of the year 2012. So that could mean 4th quarter as well. To me it makes no difference...if they're comming out with a replacement for the Aurora 9 before the end of the year, I am waiting to get the new model. It makes sense that they are running a promo currently on the Aurora...probably want to reduce the enventory of the old model before the release.of the new model later this year. He also said it would be addressing a whole range of things including the 'latency issue' with the Aurora 9. Have a good one... Tye Last edited by Tyree; 04-22-2012 at 03:04 PM.. |
