Default Velo50 N2 main gear strip 4th flight

Anybody out there having problems with main gear stripping? i was on my fourth flight doing medium power climb outs trying to get the motor tuned in and after about 5th one the main gear stripped almost all the teeth. and its cracked in from what i see 4 places. The mesh looked fine to me. Should i go to outrage for a warranty? is there anything else i should look for to trace down the cause of the stripping. OS55 hyper is the motor.

thanks,
harv

That will definitely happen if you leave one of the bearing blocks loose. Happened to me once.was adjusting the engine to the frame and I forgot to tighten the bolts. It chewed up the gear instantly.

ill have to go through the heli. i figured there was no point in arguing over a 10 dollar part. i ordered the new CNC delrin gear. Ill have to check my bell housing to make sure its square, and the bearing blocks.

thanks guys.

will too much pitch be a cause for gear strippage? i would think the motor would bog before anything but i could be wrong. What are you guys running for pitch for aggressive 3d?

Ive had the same TT gears in mine for over a year and a half.. never stripped 1..
Tareq and Bert and Mitch and many others are flying the N2 extremely hard on stock black gears.. and not stripping them either.

something is not set up right or you are dinging them on landing and they are failing after they are nicked.

I fly off concrete runways only. so never nick my tails.

The most common issue with my v50 (version 1) is the rear tail gears. However, I have never stripped them in flight. The problem is the teeth in the black gears chip. Within 2-3 flights I will loose one tooth on the rear tt bevel gear. Rather than replace them once a week, I now fly with a tooth missing from the gear. When I loose a second tooth I now replace them which has cut replacement down to once a month now. I'm out of black tail gears currently so I will be switching back to the white gears I still have. This problem began when I switched to the black gears. A friend of mine with an n2 I fly with regularly, has also lost a tooth from the same gear on occasion. I love my velocity so this won't discourage me from flying it but it is a minor nuisance. I am not knicking my tail in autos or assembling incorrectly I assure you.

Well my rear tt gears last 2 /5 flights before i lose a tooth and i stop flying and i am 110% sure that all is set up corectly and they are not getting touched on landings or takeoffs
im really dissapointed in my first outrage all i want is for it to work ,,,,,,,,,,, i am deff not flying as hard as Bert Mitch or Tareq but this keeps happening i even hovered it for a few flights and a tooth has came off the rear beavel gear are you running the white gears? thanks
