Tail rotor direction??

I know this is a common thread, but I am confused. I just upgraded my Align tail system to a Sonix system with CF tail blades. Problem is, when tail is on left side and front is on your right, the tail rotors only
worked in a clockwise direction??(in reverse.) The correct set-up made the heli just spin on the spot while spooling up, forcing me to click throttle hold. They wouldn't work the way it was originally set-up ie. rotors spinning anti-clockwise into the rotor wash. I fixed it on field, in reverse and spent an hour flying around. DOuble checked when I got home and it is set-up in reverse.

My question is WHY?

Hi Aaron

Did you replace or remove the tail belt?? If so then maybe you have the belt twisted the wrong way. Or is the sonix tail a trailing edge control setup? if it is trailing edge control then you will have to reverse the servo travel and gyro direction but the blades still spin anti clockwise looking at the heli from the right.

Most common cause is that you have the twist in the belt the wrong way. Which way the twist is determines which way the tail blades rotate.

Thanks guys. Aussie Mick got it right, it was a trailing edge set-up. Sonix tail system is opposite to Align, so I had to reverse servo direction and gyro direcrion, not blade and spin direction.
