Super RaZa... You think Capi can do it?
You know an interesting thing with this challenge is nose in vs tail in inverted. Most guys I know learned to hover inverted nose in. A few of us backwards people learned to hover inverted tail in. Whats interesting is the nose in guys have a hard time with inverted tail in and visa versa. This challenge shows if you have that nailed or not Bob

![]() I agree Bob, I've noticed that a lot of pilots favor nose is and sometimes consider tail in "backwards". I always practiced both equally so I never really favored one or the other. |

I am in, but I will need RaZa to shoot and edit the footage, as my CPU took a Poop and I have no found a suitable replacement yet!
Videos look good kids,

Any more takers? I would advise much about these challenges. They really help in the art of heli flying. Being able to perform these simingly simple exercises trains brain and thumbs to keep heli in a stable position on subconsious level. After a while of these exercises, one may wonder why it was so hard initially and how come heli sits in the air by itself now. I am not a great flyer at all, but these helped me quite a lot.
At least a bump for the challenge. |

I am trying to learn how to fly rc helis so I go to the local club and find one of the more experienced pilots and pick their brain. I bring up finless bobs flight challenges and ask if he has tried them as I want to start. Comes to find out BobO was the guy I was talking to. Small world. Thanks again Bob for all the info and help. I will post this challenge hopefully before 2014.

No problem, Ray. Today at the field was what this hobby is all about, helping each other succeed.
Let me know when you get the T-Rex 500 ready.

This challenge has been hanging over me like an unfinished project since it was posted for some reason.
![]() I have been working hard to improve my inverted orientations since the spring and am able to hover nice and low with out any issues with all of my machines nose in and tail in with passable side in. However, my couple of attempts at this challenge have made it glaringly obvious that my transitions between each orientation are super messy and need some more work. I am also far from being able to hold a stationary inverted piro. ![]() There seems to be an explosion at inverted flying at my club and I am sure at nearly every other club in the world since the mcpx was released. Although it is a somewhere between flying the sim and larger heli would it be fair to open the challenge to videos of people attempting it with their mcpx? After all, my issues with inverted hovering transitions are still as apparent with the mcpx as they are with my larger machines......Well perhaps more so since the squirrelly little thing makes the jump to light speed if you don’t hold the reigns in at all times. Fantastic flying in the videos so far guys! ![]()

I do not have a problem with you doing it with an MCPx. Later you can "man up" with a bigger helis
I understand the pucker factor and the MCPx solves this but you might find it's not as easy to do with the MCPx as you though especially in wind. Anyway go for it. Bob

well guys here is my vid. I was afraid to try piros in the back yard because if they shoot off its into concrete or the fence
So i did what i could. Been flying pretty hard for 9 months, got hooked after playing with the msr at work (work at a hobby shop) and not many people locally are very big into helis so naturally i just took it in my side orientations definately need work ![]()

This is my attempt at Challenge #3 - with bonus slow piro attempt.
I skipped tail in (by accident, I learned inverted tail in first, so its actually my strongest angle, side on nose right is my weakest, so better to practice), pretty calm afternoon with Trex 250SE 3G, so this is as good as I am at the moment, but will keep practicing ! Well you piro'ed through the tail in position and then the slow piro in control, so you get credit for the tail in

It`d have been even more impressive if you`d have done it with your 550

Wow, I just got done reading / watching all these challenges. I'm one of those guys that fell into the MCPx trap. My circuits are still a little sloppy, but I can flip, roll, hover inverted, etc no problem. Thanks for reminding me how important the basics are. Some great flying in all the user vids too!

Nice job, pomm. Must have been some wind to deal with going by the shadow of the big wind turbine (or whatever that was)!
