Default x50 flybarless head has play

I have about 15 flights on the raptor x50 (with the TT flybarless head ) . I notice that the head has some play , its up and down and when you hold the blade grips and move them out and in I get some play . The play is very slight and has not caused a problem but was just wondering if anyone has experience this . Do i fly it so ? If I have to fix it, how do I ? I love flying this heli so much ,really hope its not a big problem .Thanks in advance .

The X50B I had this spring/summer developed some slop over the course of a few months. I used the factory FBL conversion head. This slop basically amounted to some wiggle of the blade grips. It wasn't a lot and didn't seem to affect flight, in fact the X50 was one of the best flying helis I've had.

As far as fixing it, I wonder if the head could be shimmed. If you can find a shim of the proper size, you might be able to place it between the head damper and spindle spacer. Just a thought.

Here are a couple of shims that might work for you.

Let us know what you end up doing. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the quick reply , I will look in to the shim but kind of hesitant to interfere with it because it fly real good . I let you know what I decide .

You can maybe use method i used in my guide for building : http://www.helifreak.com/showpost.ph...7&postcount=13

It's about in the middle of post #13 when i ask you to check for the play.

I have flybarred machine but there is no mechanical difference in FB FBL in this.

I assume it's the same FBL as I have on my X50E? If that's the case it seems all X50's have a little slop in the bladegrips (too little preload on the thrustbearings)

I read in some other forum that Nick Maxwell had commented about it and said its fine but you can put additional shims to make it tight.
