i just flew my gaui 425 and was waiting for the pack to cool down to store charge it. and was checking my temps on every thing. and saw the motor plate was building heat so help with it i made this. what you guys think? p.s they used heat sinks and i had to cut them to fit so sorry if there dont look high end shiney.

Good Idea and a simple solution.
As long as it works, does it really need to be shiny shiny?? Let's face it, who's gonna see it 50 foot in the air? Cheers |

ture. and it dose work for me it cool off the motor and mount. today i tested it. for me it dose work alot faster and the motor stayed a bit cooler and the mount stays cooler too im USA FL. the temps 83f . the humidity is high like alway. which dont help but it works and i made a set for the other haft of the mount the temps on the mount used to be 145f now its 130f the motor used to be 157f now it 148f to 150f.

Ya, I run my batt on the bottom. 2650 6 cell, with the Turnigy 1600kv motor. (no canopy vent) Half the time, I'm not running with a canopy on anyways

Something to think about is that heat sinks radiate heat better when black than when shiny. It's not intuitive, but a black painted heat sink actually eliminates heat faster than a shiny silver one!

Black heatsinks are only better for passive heatsinks. They rely on emitting the heat energy as infrared light. When air is forced over the fins it is actually the contact between air and heatsink that is transferring heat away. Making it black will have a negligible effect as the motor is spinning air over the fins.
