Carbon tail control rod build question.

I used JB weld to secure the plastic ends to the carbon fiber tail rod. Does the metal 3x16 threaded piece thread into the plastic end and into the carbon rod? Mine only wants to thread into the plastic piece that is JB welded onto the rod. Doesn't seem like a strong bond. Only connection is the JB weld.

The threaded rod goes about 1/2 way into the plastic end, and the other 1/2 is what you thread the ball link onto. The plastic piece is just glued on the carbon rod.

If you used JB weld, then yours is probably stronger than most. Often times guys will just CA it, and that's usually strong enough. We have always just used 5 minute epoxy, and have never had a failure of the joint.

The more I thought about it there really is not great force placed on the ends. Thanks for the reply.

Does that look correct. That's the only part of the build where the manual was not very clear. I think I have the brass spacer in the correct spot on the tail boom brace.

Yes, that is correct. The spacer is there to keep the plastic ball link from binding on the metal bracket.

Were the spacers added later in newer kits? Mine didn't come with them.
