Anyone have problems with having the ESC mounted in the front under the canopy on the Trekker?
I maidened mine this morning. 45° outside, 1800rpm headspeed and only hovering and a few figure 8's and the CC Ice2 HV120 felt pretty warm.

I mounted mine up on the rear deck. I am worried about having it tucked away inside the canopy as there is not much air flow. I think the highest temp I've seen is about 110 degrees. Plus If it ever decides to go up in flames, I want it up out of the way and not enclosed right beside the FBL unit and battery.

Thanks Heligriff, thanks Nu66ie.
I thought about putting it back there, but as of now I like the way I have it mounted and no wiring shows with the canopy on, which makes for a cleaner look. Plus, I really don't feel like ripping it apart again. ![]() I found a link to an ESC cooling fan but couldn't find any more info on it. Anyone know more about it, please share your info. For some reason helifreak won't let me post the link to heli daily. So lets try it this way. Just remove the space between "heli" and "daily" to get to the page. heli daily.com/cool-product-cooling-fan-for-castle-creations-ice-80-120-160-hv-escs/

khoysagk, nice to meet.
I have seen that cooling fan article but have not seen it for sale anywhere. Did you look at your Castle Logs to see what the temperatures were? If your flying in cooler weather, it may be just fine. ...the logs are your unseen friends...

127 is nothing at all. Like Nu, i have my CC160Hv mounted on the back deck. i whole heartedly reccomend you trade up to the 160 as the 120 has had issues.
