Been flying my mini for a week now with no issues. Been flying awesome.
Today first pack got a couple tail twitches. Came in to hover around and got some cyclic twitches and a couple tail twitches. Them motor briefly died and came back on. Did this for three different packs. I'm starting to get some "Satellite data framing error" errors in vbar log now. Weather was nice but lots of big thunder clouds near by. Am I getting static hits? Anyone ever get static hits on a mini p? Should I ground the boom to the motor mount? Mike. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

How many sats do you use? This may be related to a loose cable or problem with a connector. I had similar issue with my mini on Spektrum, but it was always related to TX-RX link, never to static.
The mini is conductive from one end to another, so unless there's something wrong, static won't be an issue. You can check by multimeter just to be sure.

I use one sat and I use shoo goo on the connector. How is it conductive from one end to the other when the boom is coated and the boom block is plastic?

Each end of the boom is not painted. Static shouldn't be an issue

Ok sounds good. Doing research on the vbar error ""Satellite data framing error"", I find it is either Static, or a phase wire on the motor is grounding. I checked the motor and it is fine. So I'm thinking static or excessive noise. To be on the safe side I grounded the boom to the motor mount

Some though have reported that using the AL rear guide pulley (next to the tail pulley) causes static issues that going back to plastic has corrected. Considering the weather in the area, the problem could actually have been caused by electrical activity in the clouds, or a static buildup on the whole heli. The humid weather typically associated with electrical storms makes it harder for the belt to cause static problems.

Thanks everyone for the info. I did ground the boom to the motor mount and did 3 flights today with no twitches. I agree it was probably the weather.
I understand now how the design of the mini prevents static. For piece of mind I'll probably keep the ground wire on. Mike Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My Prôtos had tail twitches, so I grounded the boom. After I eventually crashed, I realized the stock boom wasn't sanded. So now I check both the Mini and the 500.

had to replace my boom a couple weeks ago cause of a faulty Align 415 servo. I believe the part of the boom that went into the boom block was bare metal.

Thought I would update this thread. I couldn't figure out why I had to run a wire from my boom to the motor mount to keep the static hits under control.
It seemed that the mini was specifically designed to handle static. But it dawned on me that I have after market frames and I believe they are FG.
