Hope this Warp 360 comes soon to cure my Mini Protos habit.

Tried going back to the stock canopy & tail fin on my newest one but too hard to see among the trees & shadows where I fly.

What you don't see is the impaled blade dividing 2 motor leads... Ah well, at least it wasn't the ESC. Thought I'd put it up as I've never seen a heli impaled before.

Holely Mini Prôtos! I guess it couldn't take any more Smack 3D and decided to end its flying career!

Joking aside, what happened? The rest of your Heli looks fine...

Well, truth be told, I was messing with stuff I should not have been messing with at too low an altitude. 2 factors. I was trying to do rainbows too close to the deck.

At my skill level, that was, um, not very wise.

So basically when I had the heli disc facing down, I dumbthumbed it and planted it into the grass below disk first.

I have no idea how the heck the blade impaled the heli, maybe the blade struck the ground and broke, and the fragment was near vertical as the heli subsequently impaled itself upon it... Lucky it wasn't through the canopy and into the lipo.

Anyhow so the damage so far:

1. 4S motor (2 leads got cut)
2. pair SAB 350's
3. Bent spindle - visbly
4. Bent main shaft - subtle
5. Slightly bent pitch linkages.
6. Slight nick in the frame where the blade actually impaled it - just a tiny under 1 mm crack, CA'ed over it. Don't think it will affect structural intergrity (see pic).

Otherwise canopy lipo, servos, ESC, v-bar appear to have survived.

Expensive lesson. Ah well, live and learn.

no heli's are harmed during this video!

few teeths are gone from the belt thats all!

its hard to see the altitude when everything is white and sun is not shining so there are no shadows on the ground.

this is taff little heli!

I really love flying this heli, unlike anything in its class that I've flown!
