I'm looking at a 700 size heli and the 700e DFC HV super combo pricing looks attractive...
However for cost reduction and flexibility I would like to share 6S4000 packs with my Gaui X5. Doing a search it appears 12S 4000 is on the low end of what people run here. What do you guys think? I fly mild big sky 3D and I'm just getting into tic-tocs, etc. I guess my other option is some sort of stretched 600 w/ 12S. |

I wouldn't go lower than 4000mAh..I ran 5000mAh packs in mine and always used more voltage than mAh..Packs always come down at 35ish % left in them but voltage per cell was about 3.70V ..
Best I could tell ya is try them and set the timer for 3:30 and check the packs after each flight..If you have alot left, turn the timer up 30secs each flight...You already have them so why not? If I ever get another 700E,I would for sure go with 4300 mAh or 4500mAh packs ..

Depends on how your define 'mild'...
I fly what I call easy slow 3D with my E7 with 4000 mah batteries and I get 5.30 minutes and come down at 3.75-9 per cell depending on how hard I'm pushing during the flight. I spend a lot of time near center stick on collective. If you are easy on the collective, you may be happy with 4000 mah batteries. If you fly a lot of fast forward with the stick at 85-100% full or are spending a lot of time on learning tic-tocs.....fogetaboutit on the 4000 mah batteries.

OP, I run 3800 Gens Ace and get at about 5-6 minutes on 800 size. If I did nothing but hard tic-tocs, I could probably burn these in 4-4:30, but I time 6:00 and can't remember going more than 20%. I'm running 1750-1850 hs which I think makes a big difference. I'm probably about the same stage as you are (cleaning up tic tocs and piro flips, etc.) so IMO a good 4000 pack is just fine. The lighter weight gives back some flight time too.

I use 4000's on my 700 and fly hard for 5 minutes. I wouldn't call it 3d, but the collective is maxing in both directions with 14 deg pitch. Running 1800 HS helps alot with the flight time, the light weight helps the performance. Keep the revs low and you will love the 4000s.

I would have to guess yes. I have always ran 5000s but am buildings a new kit now and am planning on using some 4400s for a lighter machine.

They will work and you can get about 4 mins. Heli feels kinda floaty with them.

4400 are perfect for the 700e. They are liter and you get the same flight time as 5000.

I would say no less than 45c rating but mah isn't important other then getting proper CG. Less mah would be less flight time but you can fly hard 3D with 3000 mah packs but not 3000 mah packs rated with 25c. I think ideal is 4400 and up. So yes if your lipo's are rated around or above 45c you should be fine.
