Just arrived.
It simply plugs in to one of the sensor ports. Just need to know what side and wheres the best place to put it?

I would but it in the middle on top where the fet sits under, the whole top area serves as a heat sink for the fet, its a nice compact unit.

The fan goes on the top side of the esc where all the labeling is and dead center

Cool.
Will prob use thermal tape so it wont ruin the finish on the Kosmik. I cant upload pics for some reason, keeps timing out???

Was wondering about the thermal tape - are we sure that this won't leave any sort of marking on the Kosmiks surface?
I've just seen the timing out message as well????

Even if it does it will be a lot less than using Artic Silver thermal adhesive or the like

8815 is very thin 15 mils. and works great .

By using the heatsink on the helijive/jive you can increase its amp rating. Does the same apply to the Kosmik as well?

No, in a word. The Kosmik can go over 200a. It can peak much much higher but if it hits this max, even for a millisecond it will shut down. Having the heatsink/fan will aid in the cooling which will help to delay it shutting down if you are driving it hard

So the Kosmik 160 has a ceiling 40a lower than the 200 in a spike??
Where approx is shutdown?? |

I do not know at what value the 160 will perform a hard shut down.
