Anyone tried the RePlay XD 1080 camera instead of GoPro HD? I am keen on understanding the lens quality - as per the website the cameras has low image distortion. the GoPro has a lot of distortion which I would like to avoid... Any feedback will be appreciated...

The Replay has less distortion but the angle of view isn't as wide, either. If you set the GoPro to "medium" coverage the distortion is about comparable.
The Replay's biggest disadvantage is the battery is built-in. Can't be changed out. And the expected working life is about an hour. Image quality is slightly better with the GoPro, particularly the GoPro 3 with ProTune turned on. I use my Replay as a "dash cam" in my car, with it connected to the car's cigarette lighter jack for continuous power. For my quadcopter and for other work I use the GoPro. It's not as streamlined or compact, but they're built well and the performance is good.

Hey Windbreaker, Thanks for the feedback.. that's really useful. Just one question.. they recently launched external battery packs as well.. and considering that we dont fly more than 30mins.. the Replay battery issue may not be a concern. In that case do you still feel GoPro is a better option compared to Replay? the size is really small and the fact that it can be planted in places like below a skateboard etc is something that's making me think about it. But definitely not at the cost of any other quality / performance issues compared go GoPro...

The Replay is absolutely better when it comes to being able to put in locations that keep things streamlined. And the image quality is pretty decent, not quite as good as the GoPro is now.
The Replay is also a lot lighter. And it's possible to recharge the battery in the field, too. If I have a chance I'll post some side-by-side comparisons of the two cameras I have, which is the ReplayXD and the GoPro Hero 2.

I have replay xd hd for a while now. Like its compact size. Image quality is decent. Customer service is good(original unit was DOA). Contacted the manufacturer and got replacement in 3 weeks.
Here's a video with replay xd mounted on the tail boom of my Trex 600 pro. Or the video of this post http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?p=4130632 EDIT: will fix the youtube link when i get home.
