Default RC Flight & Battery Logging app

Request for help!

I am releasing a new Android app for RC*flight and battery charge logging, and am looking for beta testers. If you are interested in testing the app, please get in contact with me (or via my Facebook page below) and I will get you a promo code which can be redeemed via Google Play (to get the app for free!).

An iPhone/iPad app is in the pipeline, if you're interested in this, please like my page and I'll post updates.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...mpey.rclipolog

https://www.facebook.com/RCLiPoLog/

At this stage I am open to suggestions for new features, and already have some ideas for future upgrades.

Thanks.
Stephen

Thank you for taking the time to create a logging app. I use an iPhone, so I would have to wait for your iOS version.

For the batteries, this is what I like to keep track:

1) Flight count
2) Full cycle count
3) Helicopters (or other ships) I used the battery on a particular flight.
4) Miscellaneous section that allows one to input battery information like weight (standard and metric), dimensions, where/when purchased, price paid, etc.
5) IR both for individual cells as well as the full pack
6) Ability to send information to Excel file.
7) Ability to graph the data

It would be useful for the interface to allow for mah discharge as well storage charge.

For helicopters, I like to keep track of the following:

1) Flight count
2) Total air time
3) Miscellaneous section

Thanks for the comments, and for people wanting to test the first release. A few minor issues where picked up, but have now been sorted. Google Play is now moved from beta testing to a full release.

The iOS version is coming along nicely, it's running just spending all of my spare time finishing it off!

Cheers,
Stephen

For people who do keep data, it might be nice to have a import/export function. This would make past data easier to organize in a csv file and import it to keep up with in the software and vise versa. Exporting could help graph trends and such.

You can backup and restore the data to Dropbox. You just need to create an account with them first.

Currently you click on the Dropbox login button, enter your login details on the webview that pops up, and your then need to click login again to enable the Backup and Restore buttons. I am working on improving this. But at the moment it's functional.

I will definitely consider this for future developments.

So I had a chance to enter some light bulbs and some models today.

I've previously used RC flight log and also Techdad's app. The interface is much cleaner on your app and I like how the resolution is higher.

It's also a nice touch that when you clone a battery it automatically increases the number at the end of the battery label. There does seem to be a little bit of a bug. I couldn't create a 1s lipo. The program kept changing it to something other than 1S.

It may also be nice to have a history tab where I could see a log of all of the events that have created as far as flights and maintenance and if possible a dark theme.

The Model Log is already there, when inside a Model you tap Log, you are initially shown the Calendar view, but you can switch to the "list view" tapping the Log word up there on the right.

Never mind those iOS guys Stephen, just keep working on this Android version.

Thank you very much for developing this. We're really lacking on the Android side of the house. Ditto everything in post 2 (curmudgeon). Also need some way to modify a model or a battery (correct something). Graphing IR and flights over time is what I'm specifically looking for in a logger.

We messaged this morning and I commented on the export/import capability. I have a lot of data from my current logger I don't want to abandon. Looks like your .json file is close to something we could utilize. More than likely we can horse our data into some sort of csv format, so if you could define and accept a protocol for that we could handle it from there.

With a csv export, we could also graph on the computer using Excel. Good interim solution before built-in graphing capabilities. (I would use this even after you have graphing capabilities.)

Thanks again!

Thanks.

There is an update on the way, few minor changes, like being able to edit/delete log entries (and a few minor bug fixes). Apple take a lot longer process updates than Google, so please be patient.

In the mean time if you see any issues, please let me know via the email address on the About page of the App.

Cheers,
Stephen

I bought your IOS version today. My phone and IPad are linked so it loaded on both. After I input some models and batteries on my phone, I looked at my IPad and the models did not go onto the IPad. I would use my phone for everything anyway so I guess I don't need it on my IPad, just wondering if I was doing something wrong.
