Waterproof LED Strips for Nitro?

Hey guys, question I have is should I go with water proof LED strips for my 700N nitro ship or go with the non waterproof strips? What is your experience on how nitro and nitro exhaust affect the integrity of the LED strips?

Are non waterproof strips OK and just cleaning them with alcohol work OK or will nitro corrode the copper tape/LED's/resistors?

Go with waterproof strip. Much easier to clean.

I ended up going with non waterproof LED strips but I sprayed all the LED strips with a fuel proof clear coat while on the heli and seems to have held up after at least one flight. We will see how it works over the long haul.

I'd have gone waterproof had all the colors I wanted been available in waterproof.

My first night flight was interesting. In one respect you can see the heli orientation better than in the day with all the bright colors but the pucker factor is huge

I have used both waterproof and non water proof.
If you have to make a lot of solder joints the non waterproof are a lot easier to work with.
In 5 years that they have been on my nitro heli I have not had any issues with either type.
The Waterproof are easier to clean since there are no nooks and crannies. But then the water proof also weigh a LOT more than the non waterproof. I now have a 10+ pound Raptor 50 night ship.

I had to cut my LED strips into multiple pieces to get them to fit and to place them where I wanted them. Had to solder a bunch of wires to connect all the strips so agree this seems more difficult with waterproof based on the pics I've seen of the waterproof LED strips.

Flew for the second time last night but this time I advanced beyond just hovering i.e. forward flight, flips, spins, etc and was a blast! Something about night flying...
