Default Hitec warranty

How is Hitec's warranty? I have 3 Hitec 5065MGs and today the elevator servo went out after a tip over of an auto.

I don't have the box anymore and I bought it about 3 or 4 months ago? Do they do a 50% crash thing or how much does it cost to have them fix it?

FYI my front servo is frozen stuck!

IF there is any waranty on HiTec servos, it will depend on where you brought them (with proof of purchase)

Even then you may well find when you contact whoever it was you purchased your servo from may just say that your warantry is 'void' due to abusing the servo - " it wasn't designed for what you used it for." :-(

EXAMPLE -
I purchased 3 x HiTec HS-5965MG servos for use on the cyclic controls in my 600 size electric heli.

Checked the input voltage from the helis Rx, servo, gyro pack - voltage was WELL within specs. (5.1 volts) Plugged the servos into the Rx. Switched on the Rx battery and - - one of the NEW HS-5965MG promptly started smoking !
Burnt a hole (approx. 4mm in dia.) right through the bottom plate of the casing at the opposite end to where the leads go into the case.

Sent it back to the shop it was purchased from, (by register post) and after 4 months of emails & mostly being ignored recieved an email back telling me that I'd 'abused' the servo therefore no replacement under waranty ! ALSO if I wanted it back, it would cost me 3 time what I'd paid to send it in. - - - WTF ???

Needed another servo of course so brought another HS-5965MG - this time from a different shop of course !

Tested this one before mounting it in my heli - bloody thing sat on the table jittering away with no signal input. Moved and held correctly when the Tx stick was moved - BUT without Tx input it continually juttered all the time. Sent it back and this time got a full refund. :-)

SO ended up with 2 out of 4 of these servos failing - brand new out of their boxes. :-(
The other 2 are now in my 'junk box' ! ( That's at over US $ 100 EACH !!! )

All three sevos on the 600 heli are now InoLab 760MG - their are GREAT ! (more powerful, precise and less expensive than the Hitec's where :-P )

My 500 size heli runs 3 x Hitec HS-85MG servos on it's cyclic and they work just fine - very happy with them.
Same as the 3 x Hitec HS-65MG servos on the cyclic of my 450 size heli. They work great as well.

Hitec HS-5965MG are just plain CR*P - IMHO ! Would NEVER recommend them for ANYTHING ! EVER !

SO NOT HAPPY & NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL !

Send it in. It's junk to you anyhow. Might just be surprised. Hitec has been THE BEST to me as far as warranty goes.

In the USA maybe that's the case - - in Australia it's a case of - - " Don't call us - we'll call you. "

A good friend of mine owns a hobby shop - even he couldn't get anywhere with the importing agent.

I gave up a long time ago and replaced all three servos with another brand, of what I now consider, much better quality.

These HS - 5963 MG servos are the only Hi Tec servos that have given me any trouble at all in over 30 years of R/C flying.

If I was a fisherman - I'd use the bloody things for sinkers.
