Personally, I charge all my lipos at 2C to 95% (4.16-4.17 V / cell), 30-35 minutes including balancing.

Unfortunately, you will never be able to charge a 6S 3300mAh battery at a 1C rate with the BC6. This is a good charger (I have one), but it is limited to a 50W output. You will need an output capacity of 83W to reach the 1C rate for your packs.

With a 6S battery (25.2V), the maximum output current for the BC6 will be 1.98A, or 0.6C for your packs. This means that you will be looking at a charge time of about an hour and 20 minutes, depending on the balance between the cells and assuming an 80-percent discharge.

What size packs are you charging and what charger are you using?

I have one of the same Outrage XP 25C packs @3300MaH. I am waiting on my BC8DX (from RC Accessories) and once I get it I can post a charge time for that charger. I have a 40A 13.8V ac/dc power supply so we will see how long it takes.

Charge times are dependant on 4 criteria:

1). Charge Rate. Most people charge at 1C. The higher the charge rate the faster the CC portion. CV portion is only partially effected. CV termination is typically set at 1/10th the initial charge rate, so higher initial charge rate sets the CV termination higher. Not all chargers may have the CV termination at 1/10th initial charge rate which would effect charge time.

2). Discharge state: Depending on how discharge the battery is and what, if any, cell imbalance is present will have a major impact on charge time.

3). Balancer bleed or discharge rate: The higher the bleed rate the faster the balancing takes place. Balance charging is a slower process than non-balance charging even if the cells are balanced.

4). Battery/cell internal resistence: The higher the battery or cell resistence, the longer the charge process will take. As cells deteriorate the IR increases.

I recently did a test between the Bantam BC6-10 and another charger than I have been testing and used the Bantam BC8DX charger to Storage discharge the packs to the same level to test the chargers. I used 2 packs, 1 a 3S 2200 and the other a 4S 2200. In all cases the Bantam BC6-10 balance charged the packs faster, put in more mah, and on 1 pack for an unknown reason was batter balanced.

While the Bantam BC6-10 did beat the other charger in the 3 catagories, the variance was not that much. Average balance charge time was 50 seconds faster and the increase in mah input was anywhere from 25 to 80 mah. Balance accuravy was better however.

Evan
And doing the same charging test how do you think the BC8DX would have done compared to the BC 6-10 ?

I'm not sure what test you are referring to. Please let me know what it is.

The BC6 will not allow you to reach the 1C rate with two 3S 2200mAh packs in series. The best you can hope for with these packs is a 0.9C rate.

Assuming you discharge them by 80 percent, it will take about an hour to charge both of them in series.

Looking at the bright side 0.9 is better for my packs!
Thanks!

Just sold it last month and it has run 4 years strong charging mostly 6S and 3S IN VOLUME and not a single problem from it the entire time... A QUALITY charger my friends! Thumbs up for Evan!
