Still a little to cold to go to the field so I did some more yard testing. It feels a lot better now but it still has a little bit of a jerk every now and then. I'm going to balance the tail blades next. Anyways here is test number two.

After test two and balanced tail blades everything looks good ...

It is still a little jerky with collective input though.
KC, how much pitch you getting out of yours before it binds on something?

By the way did I say thanks for all your input?

THANKS!!

I get 32° of collective pitch with the FBL head. I have +/- 12 set in the BeastX and have it dialed down in stunt 1 and 2 so the head speed doesn't drop at full stick in negative or positive. With the 50 it pulls 11° no problem. Your 30 should take 10°

I guess I need to drop it to 10 cause I've got it set to 11 positive/negative..

Well, after checking with my pitchgage I believe I could get 13 degrees both ways but it would move the center on my pitch arm a little. I don't think anything would bind either but I don't think my po lil TT .39 could handle the load it would bog for sure..

Never. While I love the sound of my jets. I don't like the sound of the turbine helis. Electric helis is by far the best sound and scale spool up but the short flight time is what keeps most of mine nitro powered.

I looked at some of the Heli pictures on the web sites. Guess I'll check out youtube and see what they sound like. Today: 6mph winds, and 63degrees smells like a good time..

Joining the raptor 30/50 flybarless clan! Next to install the copterx 3-axis gyro on them. Anyone have affordable digital cyclic servo recommendations? Was looking at the Align 610's but I haven't decided. I have Futaba 9254s on both tails.

I just purchased 3 DS610's myself today. Should have them by Thursday. As they say buy the best you can afford.... I think KC is running the Futaba HV's on his but they are about $100+ bucks apiece.

best bang for the buck are the Align DS610s, you can get a set for 100-120 shipped, my Raptor has HS7975s.

Are you talking used? $169 new is the cheapest I've found here ****************wJFatO

I'm going to also need a digital throttle sevro for my R50 as I'm going to try using the 3-axis Walkera 2703v receiver I have as it requires all digital servos. Don't think I need to go with a DS610 on that and am looking for options.

On my R30 I have Hs-635hb servos on the cyclic. I know these are pretty strong but not sure they'll be fast enough for the flybarless controller?

DANG!!!! I had a awesome day (no video). I went to the field to do some testing and wow.... I did a full 100% positive pitch climb out and it didn't bog, the tail held rock solid, it didn't tilt or swerve, just a straight up climb ... awesome.

Uh... ahem.. I got a little frisky and did a small tail strike and it ruined my rotortech tail blades... dang .. I should have put a set of plastic ones on before I went..

I bought 3 610s new from MOF (screen name) on RCU for 120 a few weeks ago and local guy just a few days ago. He is an Alogn dealer and sales then out of kits customers want different servos for and he has them listed there now.

I'm doing a little research on the BeastX USB adaptor. It looks like you can use it to program the AR7200BX but not do firmware updates. It also appears that Horizon Hobby is going to make it compatible or release their own adapter for updating and program changes.Oh, you will brick your AR7200BX if you try to update to the new version 3.0.3 Microbeast firmware, just the way it is... for now.

the BeastX adapter works with the 7200BX, you just can NOT use BeastX firmware, you will have to use Spektrum, but the current Spektrum 3.0 is the same as BeastX 3.0.8 so there are no updates currently.

Thanks Gaba... It flies awesome too.

KC, thanks for the update on the USB port. I guess I'll do with out cause I don't mind using the radio. My canopy is solid so I can't see the light or put it in setup or parameters mode without taking the canopy off so eventually I'll purchase one so I can program changes with my laptop

you wont need to make many changes, two to four flights at the field with the canopy off and you'll have her dialed in, put the canopy back on and fly it, leave the laptop at home
