So, Tower's website says it comes with a 7008SB rx. Is this the only currently available receiver?

What telemetry sensors are currently available?

Doug,
Thanks for that. I have been looking for the answer to that question.

Cheers

Question about telemetry update rate and latency...

The manual says if the telemetry update interval is increased, stick response will increase. This make sense. The default value is 1.0 sec. My question is how much can you increase the data update rate and still retain good latency? Good latency, to me, would equate to equal performance to an 8FG.

No way to transfer the data from my 10CHG is there ? This is holding me back. Also like the screen on my 10 CHG. I do want the vibrating alarm though.

5 points is a marketing thing. Radios with more points for more dollars are coming next year. Tower is dumping the 12FG and 12Z at bargain prices - the evidence.

Sorry, no. You'll need to copy your settings down and manually transfer them. Sort of sux, but in the end it is worth it.

Hi guys,

Unfortunately the delivery of 14SG's into the United States has been delayed due to FCC compliance testing taking longer than anticipated. We now expect to receive our initial shipment in January. We apologize for this delay as we know many of you were hoping to have your new radio during the holidays.

I picked my nice shiney new 14SG up today.

It is very nice!

For the 8FG I used a screen protector from an iPhone. The screen on the 14SG is much bigger. I will have to get a screen protector for a small tablet and cut that up.

I detect a couple of things wrong from Futaba. They suggest using their 600mA wall wart charger. The current output is too high for the initial cell forming charge and if the charger has no peak detect cut-off unless you are there the pack will effectively be over-charging in 4 hours.

I have taken the battery out of the TX and I am using a 170mA charge rate. I will then increase the charge current but again I will always slow charge it to allow the cells to balance.

Here in the UK the TX is supplied with a special short lead with the correct power plug one end and a servo plug the other to plug into the RX side of the charger.

I have exactly same wall charger for my 8FG but I got green light on the adapter once it's charged and most important it really stops charging.

The 14SG was charging 10hrs and still red light. Then I measured the 2S LiPol and got 8,56V! I'm pretty sure this batterie is demaged so need to send it back to service. I hate it I can tell you.

I thought the wall chargers were for Ni-Mh pack not LiPo.

robbe (Futaba Europe) delivers it with 2S LiPol 2800mAh with wall charger 8,4V 500mA.

It should last 10-12 hours...well if you could charge it.

All those people queuing up for the louder alarm you are going to be disappointed. It is the same as on the 8FG. Now however you can set 1 of 4 different types of vibration to alert you that the timer has counted to the set value.
