tail wag
i went for a couple of flights yesterday and all was good on the first battery
i switched to the second battery and got a heap of tail wag checked the heli over and could see anything out of place but im thinking it is one of two things A) the servo stripped on landing with a small tail strike on grass(it was pretty soft though) or B) the battery was a bit loose as i dont have any velcro on my other two batteries can a slight movement of the battery cause wag? i have heard the servos are suspect though |

First of all, put some velcro on all your batteries to minimise them shifting around.
Secondly, manually move your tail servo (unpowered) and if you notice any clicking, it's probably a tail servo gear. Also, make sure that your tail gain is not too high or the servo will overheat and eventually fail. Just take it high enough so it is solid, no more. Cheers, TomC

Also make sure your belt tension is set correctly.

i think i can put it down to the battery not being fully secure and that causing the wag
just had the recharged battery with the velcro on and no wag at all have got a metre of velcro on the way real expensive stuff though like 2$ for the metre |

while rebuilding my 300x today after my first crash, I had been pounding my head against the wall trying to figure out why my bird was tail wagging an inch or so back and forth.
After going through everything several times, I found out that it was a missing screw in the LANDING GEAR that was throwing the beastx off and it was trying to compensate for the vibrations caused by it. You couldnt see it when you spun it up with no blades because the weight of the bird was keeping the landing gear from vibrating. I will have to say though, crashing is a great way to learn how a new model that you just got goes together and what makes it tick.
