I have to say that this charger rocks.

I have been charging three 6s 2600 packs at 10 amps (moderate I know) at home in an hour.
At the field I charged two 6s 2600 packs at 10 amps on fast charge in 22 minutes. This of course is with my car running but wanted to try it out.

When I get home I throw them all on storage charge and within 15 minutes they are all done.

Parallel charging is certainly for me. I am a nitro guy but this is the excuse to fly more epower.

as regards the icharger heat, is the fan working at full speed? I think there is a menu for changing its behavior.

if you increase the power supply voltage you will be able to go up in amps on the output side without going up in amps on the input cable. I don't think the icharger will let you go much higher with that low input voltage. Perhaps with a higher input voltage the internal temps will not rise any further, I dunno.

nyc863,

Yes, the fan is going full tilt. I read the specs in the manual and it seems that running at 50 degrees C is OK, the charger will just automatically drop the amperage to cool things down, and it will shut off at 60 degrees C.

I also read that the 3010B is only capable of charging at 500w with a 12v supply, and at 1000w with a 24v supply. I wish I knew that before because I would have got a 24v supply. Oh well, live and learn.

i don't think there are many or any big power chargers that can reach their max rated output on 12 or 13v.

And good thing too because 80 amps at 12v needs cables like a car jump starter!

I've been charging six 6s lipos at a time in parallel for months. I wouldn't have it any other way. It's much faster and more gentle on your packs.

Default Thanks Guys

Man, this charger rocks. I have had it for a week now and can't do without it. I love the parallel charging and internal resistance measurement capability. The storage charge function is also fantastic, especially because it automatically will go into discharge or charge as needed. The only bad thing about buying this charger is you will want to sell any other chargers you have. I even purchased a 106B+ as a back up after using this charger.
