I'm confused? where did you "hear the OWB slipping"? Was it in the videos RR posted?

Just reading on the forums, and the reviews on HobbyKing on the one way bearing replacement for the Assault.

OH LOL I thought you meant you could hear it slipping in flight... As in it made a slipping noise...

The Align one is one of the best I have used, I don't have a ton of flights on my 700L but I had a 700N for several years, and it was the same OWB, and it worked awesome! But of coarse the power of a nitro is not like having a huge 12S power system!

Hi everyone, just setting up my fbl unit and am at the point where I 90 the servo arms and 0 the blades however with the servo arms 90'd and the servo arm link to swash wound as short as it goes and the dfc link wound right in I still have about 4-5 degrees + pitch its like the links from the servo arms to the swash are to long?? at first I thought I had the servo's in upside down but know they are not because then they wouldn't line up with the elevator servo spline. I've searched assault dfc images and see others have the same links (v2 turn buckle style ) also in the pics above, I'm wondering if there is something I've missed? The links with out the ball links on them measure 49mm and I see the align ones are 44mm if I drop the swash 5mm it gives me 0 degrees on the blades and puts the swash in the centre of the main shaft and the pin in the centre of the antirotation bracket, I've ordered the align links just keep wondering if it's something I've missed. look forward to replies guys Cheers Brent.

Exactly the same as mine turned out, I wound up buying some pushrods from Hk, I hope I can get to zero at 90 with the shorter pushrods when I get to setup.
I also got some turnbuckles for fine tuning

Just curious... I don't have this model, but a member of my club does. He didn't have this issue... Is it possible to put the main shaft in upside down? This was a potential issue on my older trex 450s.

I had wondered that myself, but no it has 4 bolts that go into it through the head and only one through the auto gear. these kits didn't used to come with the turn buckle style links maybe your friend has the old style straight links? if he does has the turn buckle style links maybe he knows the "trick"

I beleive it's the difference between the position of the output spline on different brand servos

I saw the extra bolt after I posted and thought that was the case.

Could very well be. I am pretty sure he has the turnbuckle links. I will have to look closer next time at the field. He is using turnigy servos on his cyclic.

I have the turnbuckle links and turnigy servos on mine,
The problem with the links is they look like turnbuckles but in fact they are not, same thread both ends on mine.
Thanks for checking it with your friends I will be interested in your findings.

I'm running align ds 615's in mine. could well be the output spline positioning, just seems strange that the swash sits 5mm high and the align links are 5mm shorter

When I checked the specs at my Lhs the align links were roughly the same size, maybe I picked the wrong set or the measurements were wrong.
I bought a selection of different lengths from Hk to help cover any possibilities.
Make sure you have adjustment either way with the pushrods just in case you need to drop the swash for equal movement each way.

so far I'm banking on the align links, the specs on the amain list says there 44mm long mine are definitely 49mm failing that ill cut more thread myself if need be but still fingers crossed.

Thanks for the info, it looks like the ones I was looking either were specced wrong or I had the wrong links in my cart.
I will look again

Thanks that's a different link to the one I had, can you tell me whether they are turnbuckles? I.e left hand thread one one end and right hand on the other?
So they can be popped in and adjusted in situ
