Why V90 and not V50?
Hi Guys.
I need to decided on this 2 machines. I know the parts cost is very close, price diference on frames are $20, main blades are $25 more than the V50, the V50 can get more flights per gallon, but the 90 looks awesome and more with the new YS engine. I have few questions for you guys. How many tanks per gallon with a 7 minutes flights you can get on the V90? my style is mild 3D, tictocs, funels, huricanes, pyro flips. so V50 or V90? with full size V-bar 5.0, I saw some post about the V90 is better than the Trex 700N, Is true? what is the diference on this to machines and what is the feel diference on this 2. 710mm blades are good? Thanks in advance Friends. |

can't get the 2 at the same time
just I have money to build one how you feel the velo 50 and the velo 90? I'm thinking to get the Velo50, is cheaper in gas and I can fly all the weekends. Last edited by BonewJunior; 12-15-2010 at 08:07 PM.. |

If you only have the money to get one than get the 50. don't get me wrong, I love my 90 and it flies great but the V 50 may be right for you. Here's why:
1. you can use the extra money that you would have spent on the 90 to get extra parts for the 50 2. Parts are a little cheaper 3. Smaller pucker factor when you flew. 4. more tanks per gallon 5. More aftermarket parts and canopies available if you want a little bling. 6. Been around longer and a well proven design. good luck. Tone

My friend you cannot compare these two models..
IF you afford the fuel that a 90 models wants then go for the 90 without thinking any other... THe 90 is flying a lot better with a lot more power....! I have the velocity 50 and i want a 90 but i know from my 700 but its not easy to afford 2x90helis.. Every time i go to the field with my 90 i want a gallon!! with y 50 i want half a gallon

like they .......
like they said ,get the 50 for now-, they both fly well . which is why when the fuel supply is plentifull i have a hard time choosing between the 3 (i sold the trex 600 and got another v50 has bigger motor in it faster servos and soon will be fly bar less)

Nice Statton1
Thanks Mastoras I go for the V50 for now, next year I go for the V90. I choose the V50 because I don't want the head speed drop and a generator, is crazy the field close to my house don't have electricity, I was in love with the fusion 50 but charge X2 6S is a hard job so I end with the V50. cheap in gas good performance, no hs drop, I need to charge only a 2S lipo with my car battery outrage have the case for $80 of 30% nitro fuel, sound so nice. I know the electric have more power but the Hs drop kill me, and 4-5 minutes flight time to, so with the V50 I can get 7 minutes flight time + every minute the performance increase because you have close to a pound of gas in the tank. I love the style in the velo + the sound of the nitro engine, is like a drug and make you happy jejejeje. I hope I can get better performance with the evo muffler and YS56SR. Thanks Guys. |

The electrics are not as expensicve as the nitros nowadays.. Also if you have 5 packs and a good charger you fly all day...! The Electrics like logo dont want maintenance... Once you build it then fly for a lot lot lot times without eny problems.. you dont have to tune etc.. I like both.. i have Both...! I cannot select on of two... but what i can say nowadays is that i prefer 90class electric because i have 6-7mins of flying as the nitro 90.. And on nitro i prefer the 50class as i can fly 8-10 mins and without to pay too much for fuel..!

V50 VS fusion 50 no electricity in the field, I need to buy a generator, + 45minutes or an hour charge, head speed drop, fuel cost, I need to think about all of this I can get only 3 set for the fusion 50 + looks amazing and the new tail to, I don' know what is better for me now |

12-15 minutes with a car battery? I don't want to buy a generator to charge the lipos, is to expensive, I know the new Icharger can charge with a 12V at 500w, but I don't know if the turnigys nano-tech 25C can last a good time and give good power.

If you like to work in a clean room... without grease oils... Go for electric If you like to fly without servicing your heli everyday go for electric... If you like more to service your heli and not charging some lipos go for Nitro If you have a lot of money to give on fuel.. go for Nitro If you have a lot of time and you dont get bored of tunign the motor go for Nitro If tou want flight times more than 6-7 mins of 3d go for NItro (i cannot 3d more than 5 mins) If you want a lot power and unboggable go for electric.. If you dont like the noise of the nitro go for electric If you like the noise of the engine go for nitro...

and other 6 boxes of fuels and you buy8 voltz lipos..! And then you have for sure on electric 450 flights (minimum of course you can 1000 flights) On nitro you have 450 flights...(you can go more than 450 flights... And the generator will be there for all life and for other purposes..! Also i put on the list Voltz lipos not hobbyking lipos..!

You aren't going to get a lot of charges off a car battery, a 12S 5000mah pack has A LOT of charge on it.

It depends on the Car Battery...
You can buy a new big battery to have it on the car and after 20-30 charges to charge this battery on home.. But i prefer the Generator that is a good device to have every house..!

I don't know the size of the battery, is a normal 12V, I don't want to buy a generator, How long are the flight times with 3300mah 25C and a 4025-550kv motor?
the 25C can last or are bad for this machine? |

Question for you, how many lipos can you buy for the cost of a generator?
To me the answer is simple, buy more lipos, charge at home, fly at field. Cost of generator PLUS cost of fule for generator = how many Lipos?
