I have already started...but the new TDR does call my name too.... I'm not buying any other heli other than the new TDR II or the upcoming banshee. At least I have more than enough time

It's funny but I've completely lost my itch. I have so much flying that I want to do and skills to learn, that I really can't imagine another heli making a difference.
I was on the list for the TDS changed to the TDR-II and honestly as cool as that is I don't know what I'm going to do with it that I can't do now. Maybe I'll feel differently in a few months.

I'm just not sure what "epic" means anymore. The TDS looks like it "should" be the fastest thing out there by a margin. It truely is well outside the box available today. The TDR-II can handle a lot of power, but the Banshee is lighter and until we have reliable power that approaches the 16kW the TDR-II can handle it won't be the fastest or the most agile heli out there. However it will be beautifully engineered. Once you get past the wonderful build experience with the TDR-II, what will you do with it to differentiate it from a Banshee? I love beautiful engineering, but unless this is a game of Pokemon where you got catch them all, I'm not sure what each heli really buys you. Thoughts?

Any info on the next offering from Banshee?
I have been saving for the new banshee for a year. I asked them to add me to the list for it about 6 to 8 months ago. I really hope it's not just a speed Heli as I have no interest in that.

Does that mean that you will collect all Henseleit, Minicopter, and Banshee products from now until eternity?

Could not care to over think things, just doing it, because I would like too. Already collecting all the electronics.

Fair enough. I am just curious what motivates people once they have whatever they consider a complete set.
Will was too worried to let Tareq fly his Banshee and I've heard many others who are beyond that treating these helis with kid gloves. Mercuriell sold his to someone else who he thought would put his Banshee to better use. How far can a heli go past the point where people are both scared to fly them or feel unworthy to keep them? This may be more of a philosophical question.

Mark I do agree I dont have a urge to get another heli now, i feel like my heli fleet is currenly complete. To me the TDR looks great but I first want to see what the RC community thinks of it and obce it has been tested...it looks very complicated. The New banshee, well knowing the banshee team they will stay light weight and simple design, if so it will be a No brainer! I can say this...im probably No 1 on the new banshee list so with me waiting I'll definitly be one of the first to test it. Im waiting patiently and enjoying my current fleet.

However there is something to this. I've turned over the keys to my TDR to a sponsored pilot and didn't even think twice about it. I can't say I would do the same with my Banshee. Why not?

I haven't built my Banshee. It was preassembled. Somehow I don't feel the comfort I feel when I know how to put something back together myself. I know I have some great illustrated instructions for how to do this, but it's not the same thing. I guess I need to wreck it good once before I will feel like it is really mine. With regard to your analogy... Did you never learn to share your toys as a child? Sorry but I still see these things as toys to play with and could never in a million years equate having someone crash one of my helis with someone doing things to my wife. It just doesn't register. I used to loan out my pickup truck to friends when I had one and I've let other people fly all my helis except my Banshee to date. They are just things with very short windows of mattering in my life. Seriously how important will your first Banshee be once you have a second, or your TDR if you have a TDR-II hanging around? I figure these things have a half life of mattering of about 2 years. I enjoy my toys, but I have very little emotional attachment to my car, house or any of my toys.

I sold my Banshee as I didn't love it - I was also not afraid to fly it! Simply as an ARTF, proven design, I didn't get enough satisfaction of ownership or enough of a trouble-shooting challenge to justify ownership. I really wanted to build it and found dismissal of this request condescending. To be honest the whole ownership thing irritated me, the exclusivity, the cliquishness of the forum and the nagging doubt that owners were there to subsidise the development of the machine for the benefit of the Banshee record seeking elite. Inability to get a factory replacement CF canopy also spoiled the pride of ownership and being kicked off the Banshee forum, after sale, consolidated my feelings
Tweaking a new design such as the Diabolo S to match or better the Banshee has been fun and building a new TDR into SF2 has also been very satisfying. I guess not enough of "me" went into the Banshee. I have no problem letting carefully selected buddies fly any of my helis, firstly it enables one to carefully evaluate in flight performance whilst not distracted by keeping the bird in the air and secondly seeing the performance envelope pushed by a better pilot than myself has also been hugely rewarding. Each to their own! I couldn't agree more with Mark, these are pleasurable and fascinating distractions in life, and don't compare with the true values found in friends or family.

Those all sound like good reasons to sell a heli. If it isn't satisfying you and you are enjoying other helis more, than it needed to find a new home especially if someone else is very excited to own it.
I really enjoy building a heli and I really enjoy feeling and seeing the fine engineering details up close. There is a lot of satisfaction in there that feels stolen from me if I don't get that experience.

If I was not flying mode 1 then Tareq would have flown mine last year already. He is coming to our 3D funfly again this year in May, seriously contemplating to bind it to a buddy's JR XG series mode 2 TX to give Tareq a chance to fly it till it breaks!!!!
