Default 700xxtreme headspeeds??
Hi all

I'm running a stick logo 700xxtreme with 17 tooth pinion. What headspeed would you advise for sport flying?

1800-1950 will be fine. It flies VERY well anywhere in there.

Default 700xxtreme headspeeds??
Borrowing this thread, hope it's ok.

I don't have any pinion yet and want to fly with really low RPM's.
How low can the L700xx go and still performs well.
Sportflying and big sky.

EDGE 713, 4525-520 and CC160.

Any idea for pinion choice?

I'm using the 16T pinion and I get good performance all the way from 1.600 to 1.950 RPM.
With the 17T your 'optimal' RPM will be 2.050

IMHO, I really don't understand why you would use a 18T pinion if you want these 'relatively low' headspeeds.. Your ESC must be getting really warm because it has to run at such low throttle percentages (especially a Castle, which has no active freewheeling).. It may work for you, but I would certainly not recommend this to someone who still has to choose a pinion.

Running a 14s pyro 800-48 and 17t pinion, kosmic 160

1750 to 1960 rpm 75% throttle at 1960

Soon I will switch to the 16t pinion, so my idle 2 will closer to 80% throttle , which the kosmic governor likes a lot

Running 1700, 1900 and 2100 as per the logs today.

Im on a Pyro 850-50 Comp motor, 19t pinion and 12s.

Thats 65%, 72.5% and 80% I think. All head speeds were actually very nice with 1900 being my preferred out of them.
