Too low volume for being cloned. I am thinking more on the lines that Gryphon products are OEM'd in southern China.
These BECs could be either demo units or their Chinese OEM is diverting part of its production to its own profit selling them for $60... Notice that has no brand name? My vote goes to demo units. |

I think Gryphon units made in Korea so I agree with Timmy it's likely a clone

Its not 100% likeness, but there are a lot of elements which are identical.
FYI all Gryphon products are made in Korea, nothing (except maybe raw components / materials) is sourced from outside.

Well, I bought one.
The pcb is the same. Same color, number and type of components. The markings are different, though. You can fit it perfectly in the Gryphon case. The "on" led's are green, not blue. The pin-flag switch with low battery, high power led is included in the price. Of course, all the switches and indicators are compatible with those of Gryphon brand. And the only difference, other than the color, is that the Chinese one has led's indicating the servo voltage selected. A nice touch! |

No argument there. I gladly pay the difference for an after sale service that has proved already to be second to none.
The point is: Heads up for a nearly identical product coming to the market. I just thought someone at gryphon would like to know about this.... |

Hi,
i confirm this is a pure copy of the GVR-7020 but they did add a small led for the voltage selection so we have to come with something even better now ))). In this hobby, beeing copied is someways meaning that your product are good enough to give an interrest to copy it so we take it as a compliment lol ! The best way to fight with this kind of tings is to simply not focus on that kind of things and instead, develop new products and improve continuously, and this is what we try to do Best regards, Fabien |

Let's simply say that we took into consideration some requests from customers to make their life and wiring easier in Nitro helis Best regards, Fabien |

I would not worry about Sky RC by now...
That thing, at the moment of plugging the deans, produces a spike that fry the servos if in 7.4v mode. I know at least two people who did lost several servos until they realized it was the regulator... Mine is in the local dumpster already, just in case... |
