Default Like a kid a week before christmas....

I ordered a cheapo beginner fpv kit from hobby king the other day to play with for a bit and ever since then I have been like a little kid a week before christmas, I just cant stop thinking about it and im way to excited. Seriously...way to excited. Since I cant seem to stop thinking about it I straped my digi cam to my slow stick for a flight to get a taste of what it looks like. Here is my first ever video in the air, not fpv though:

By the way, did I mention im way to freakin excited about doing my first fpv? Yes? Well I just wanted to make sure you knew.

Ive been researching tilt and pan and found some interesting things, check this stuff out:

Lets you plug your transmitter into your laptop:

Then use this with your webcam to track your head movements:

I plan on doing a 3 channel plane for my first fpv so Ill use the rudder to pan and on the DX7 there is a knob I can use for the tilt. Does anyone think this wont work or have any better suggestions?

At the very least I think this would be an interesting setup to use the laptop as your screen for fpv (a simple usb tv tuner should allow me to import the live video), the webcam to track your head movements, and have it all plugged into the transmitter.

Any thoughts on this are appreciated, Ive never done fpv or really gotten into video stuff so im a a bit of a noob on this subject.

Would that work? my opinion: try everything! The more you try out, the cooler this hobby becomes. Try it all and see if you can find some cool features that other people haven't done before.

Guest and Test is almost more fun than the actual flying =)
