Default Suffering from C.R.S. please help.

My motor bogs w/full colective +/-13. I want to swap pinions. (has 12T) Do I go smaller 11T for more torque or bigger 13T for more HS? C.R.S struck me pretty bad, please help.

Doubt it will work anyway. Stronger motor, and less total collective would help. Lots run with 12 anyway. What heli by the way?

If you use a smaller pinion, then yes it will be more torquey, but you will have less punch at the start anyway since your headspeed will be lower to begin with. Plus, if it bogs real bad, as you suggested, then is a 10% change gonna make that much difference?

What is CRS, Can't Remember S%^t?

Cheers

Sutty

If you are talking about the revived belt, I found a 12t suited things best. Got better headspeed than the stock 11t, so it did become livelier. But it didn't go as far a shaking the frame to bits. The 13t got too much headspeed for my liking, plus more vibes going through the frame affected gyro performance. With the 13t higher HS it became very sensitive to both collective and cyclic response. Plus it bogged more than the 12t during aggresive collective manouvers.

I went back on a 12t with high throttle v-curves for idel up mode. I lowered my pitch range to +/-11.5. For me, I feel it made the cyclic response a little less sensitive around mid stick, so I had better control in a hover or maintaining alt. But, at the same time keeping the HS high meant I still had good cyclic response and could puchout well from a hover with minimal bogging.

I would say play with the pitch range and see if you can dial it out? Otherwise, as Sutty hinted, if your still not happy, then it's time to consider a new motor!

Damn, if it's the belt, then 13 degrees is probably too much, and I did that 3D stuff the other day, with the stock motor and the standard 10T pinion, with +-12, but I never used it all. I just set it at +-12, so my stick positions for pitch would be consistent with all my other helis, which are also +-12.

Cheers

It's for the NEW V120DO2S. Yep, can't remember $#!+.
problem 1 low battery in my pitch gauge. It was loosing calibration while I changed pitch from +/- I changed it out and it works now. I had +13.9 and had -14.2 I lowered the swash and pitch travel ADJ (tx) to a perfect +/-12.0. That work perfectly It has it's punch back. It only bogs a touch on a full stick pitch pump. I knew this bird had more juice I'd seen it before. Thanks Sutty.

BTW SHHHHHHH. The Belt is a secret project I intend on keeping it that way. I just need to change the firmware on the Devo 7e to Deviation (which I have downloaded alredy) and my Tx will talk DSSS, DSM/2, JR, Futaba protocols and the rest. The user OS is completely different so I've been putting it off. I just wanna fly not learn a new Tx and start from scratch. Doh' the secret's out again. Thanks Dennis I will use that info on the down low, of course.
