Just found on ebay replacement canopies for the MQX. It look's like the packaging is molded right ontop of the canopy thus giving you an "extra" canopy. I plan on using the packaging to make and paint my own canopy for the MQX. Probably a dark color in the rear and bright color in the front. Will be unique when done.

Thanks for the idea!

Here is what I came up with, it is a carbon fiber Micro-T Baja Bug body (try sayin' that five times fast).

My mQX is being shipped, so as soon as it arrives I will post pics.

Default REd Solo Cup

Camera mounts in the top, it is a little top heavy but the AS3X seems to compensate nicely. And still getting 6min.+ out of an "old" battery. There is no oscillation in the dvd movies. Co ax helis and dvd camera always had oscillation not now though.

Hey to say, but that Micro T body is going to be too tiny for the quad. Maybe get one from the slightlynlarger Mini T?

I'm still trying to find my BTTF Part Two Delorean body from the 1/28 scale Kyosho Mini-Z racers. I have the feeling it'll be the perfect size, but will require some modifying. Keep them mods coming folks!

I tried the CF Micro-T body on my friends mQX today as soon as I bought it from the LHS, and it is the perfect size for the Q. It can be mounted in either x, or + orientation, and still clear more downwash than the stock canopy.

I don't know anything about the Mini-T body, but if it is much bigger at all, I would think it is going to be to large for the mQX.

I was able to fly my buddy's a bit more today, and I just can't wait until my little quad gets here so I can start really pushing it!

I will post some pics when it gets here, and I get the body, and lights mounted.

Very nice job on the canopy. Not knowing what it was, I had to look it up. Good paint job too and the decals look good to. I just might have to copy you. I'll use a different color of paint so it won't be too obvious.

Good news! I just got email from Rakon. They are having the MQX shipped to them for studying and developing parts for it. They will possibly be making aluminum motor pods and CF blades for it. Who knows what else they will come up with!

I hope that they provide a motor mount that can accommodate a brusheless motor, such as the Oversky HP03S

Default A little more power

With the aim to squeeze the most of the motors, I increased the conductor size and eliminated all of the motor connectors.

I used 4 pairs of wires that make up an ordinary ethernet cable.
They do not fit in the original square carbon arms, so I used a 3mm square rod with 2mm internal hole.

Then I soldered the wires to the motors direcly

The grooves in the frame and motor mounts are large enough to pass the wires.

Void the warranty for ever, I removed the connectors on the circuit board and I have soldered in place the pairs of wires of the ethernet cable.

Finally I connected the motors.

The improvement is particularly felt at the close of flips and rolls, where greater lift capacity is evident when you close the maneuver, resulting in a smaller loss of altitude.

I just ordered a 10 amps switching step-down, to try to power it with constant 4.2 volts using a 2S 320 mAH lipo.

My slightly powerful Q
