Any advice on this would be great thanks gurus of rc heli

I had the standard KDS transmitter that came with my KDS-450SV.
I used it on the simulator a couple of times, using the kind of cheap USB cable that comes with Esky transmitters to use with FMS simulator (but with a different connector on the TX end).

From memory you had to create a separate model, with a 1 servo swash setup etc.

The K-7x outputs a PPM signal (read the manual to see how).
You can get the Phoenix Simulator.

phoenix flight sim will work with that radio, you just need to program it in under custom. I used mine until the port eventially gave out

The port on those is fairly fragile.
It lasted a week with me; I had to open up the radio and solder it back in place.
