Not everyone flies hard core 3D. My trex 550 v3 is fine on packs because I am a sport flyer. My 550 has over 900 flts on it now. Why, cause it's cheap and I can see it. I just put Halo 580's on it and it autos awesome. I practiced a couple hundred autos on it before doing them on my max. I fly 6s on it and it's great. If MSH came out with a 550/600 that could be 6s or 12s I would buy it and fly 6s. It a great sized machine in my opinion and would love an alternative. The Goblin 570 is out cause the canopy is a pain, but it does look great, and parts are to expensive. Plus I like the 600 tail boom on my trex 550 so I can run any size blade I want. Just my two cents worth. Please MSH come out with a 550/600.

It depends on the size of your flying field. Not that many people can fly tight 3D and I think most weekend pilots I come across are more big air. A 550 or 600 might be the ticket for those that don't have such a big field. Also cost of power system and repairs can be important. I think also many people want a 1 pack machine that they can share packs with a bigger heli. Most often a 550 sharing packs with a 700. For me the biggest 1 pack machine I will consider is 510mm blades. Anything bigger than that and it will be hard to find an ESC that doesn't shut down on me. A 550 would definitely be a 2 pack machine for me

You both make sense.

Us normal people do not have the collective management of the pro flyers, but the 'overpowered' motors are available / heavily promoted. So it's easy to kill packs on 6s with beastly motors. By just bad collective management, with high blade sizes, he'll with all the good gov's you don't even know you kill the packs until it's too late and you have a 6s bat eating machine if it's running 550 (blade size)

So 520 blades on 6s with the current Lipo / beastly motors seems about right. If you want to share with a 700. But give up some disk loading

I don't know it's its possible to make q frame which can run 6s / 12 s but the upgrade kit would be main shaft. / head block and bearing holders

Instead of over sizing the stuff for the highest, like with the v2 max, it's made to run 800 from the get go, idd in the 520 /600 size 6s/12s there is just not enough variables to. Make it work on both...

Perhaps my favorite size of helo to fly is the 600 size. I have a Kasama Dune and three nitros, TSA 600n and two MinAir Fury 55's. The Dune can be run as a single pack machine if you'd like I prefer it as a 12s. Buuuut... that Minicopter 550 makes a pretty good case for a single pack mid size helo. It would be cool if MSH would make a 550-600 ship in the tradition of the 700-800 max. Just me wishin'

I'm personally a fan of 500 sized helis swinging 520 to 530 blades. 500 should be the new 380 class.

My vote is 520-550 on 6S.

I hope it happens. I have all the guts for a 550. I'm going to get a logo
550sx this winter to build during the coming holidays. Id like to have a protos 550 evo much more than a logo.

I'm getting the Protos 5xx or the new Align 550x. Whichever comes out first.

I will throw my 2 cents squarely behind the 520/570 option. Notice I added 20mm to your thought Alex.😜😜. I am all for a heli that flys great on one battery.

Length needs to be 1160mm at least. Same length as a trex 550x. Great size to see in the air. I say 550/600.
