Gyro gain adjustment option in Tx
Been reading about the ability to adjust Gyro gain in the Tx but cant seem to confirm if its true or how to do it. This is what I found.
For people that want to change the gyro gain: (not included in the manual) - activate the gyro in your transmitter - assign the gyro to a switch on your transmitter - rebind your mcpx bl now you can change the gyro settings by using your gyro menu I hope this helps! Jeroen

Hi Guys,
The gyro gain is adjustable for the tail. It uses channel 5 (gear channel). For DX7s, DX8, and DX18 radios Gyro menu off = 0% gain on channel 5. This is the stock gain and the helicopter will fly just fine here. Gyro menu on 0% = stock gain. Increasing the number will increase the gyro gain. Range: 0% to 100% Decreasing the number decreases the gain. Range: -100% to 0% For DX6i and DX7/SE radios The neutral gain point changes from 0% to 50% Gyro menu off = 50% gain on channel 5. This is the stock gain and the helicopter will fly just fine here. Gyro menu on 50% = stock gain. Increasing the number will increase the gyro gain. Range: 50% to 100% Decreasing the number decreases the gain. Range: 0% to 50% I hope this clarifies this for you guys. Thanks, James

Settings for DX6i were confusing me as it has no plus & minus options. Thanks again for clearing that up.

also.... when decreasing the rudder travel adjustment or dual rate to lets say 75% or lower, it seems you can totaly eliminate the wagging tail.. But.. you will have verry slow piro movements.. But it can be a little help for the scale flyers.

Thanks for this info.
Just been trying this on my 11x because I had a very slight drift in the hover so here's the setup for the 11x. Activate the gyro menu in the devise select screen. Go into the gyro menu and select auto. Change each flight mode to T for tail lock only. Now each flight mode is at 50 which is the standard gain, and increase it from 50 for higher gain. Mine ended up at 60 for each flight mode and is absolutely perfect. Loving this heli. Danny.

Gyro gain adjustment option in Tx?
Is heading gain the only parameter we can change? How exactly does a change on this parameter affect the as3x?

While we are waiting, Can someone tell me what the results will be by raising and lowering the gain?
ie: If tail wags should I raise or lower it? , Raising gain will..... , Lowering gain will.......

Raise the gain for more tail authority. If you have a wag, you should lower it, giving it "less" authority.

Thanks Fr0st,
What would be a reason that you would want to raise it? Tail drift??

I had to lower mine about 15% (on a dx8, so don't take it for granted on a dx7 or dx6 for example) because of a slight tail wag (imagine that... tail wagging mCPx)

Correct. The harder you fly, the more you will appreciate the higher gain. For those who want to hover a lot (not really the main purpose of this), lowering the gain (below the middle signal on your Tx Monitor screen) may be preferred if a wag is present. The gain feature allows the user to adjust for their style. It is always in a heading lock mode. It allows a good, but limited range of adjustment. David.
