Pulled the trigger today, TX turns up tomorrow by courier. This should be awesome!

DC-16 = 5

DS-16 = 14

Based in Europe too but I prefer non-tray TXs

Of course.

In the end the DS-16 is more aethetically appealing and most importantly it has a more familiar layout to most of the other transmitters on the market.

People will buy better in a heatbeat, but show them something that looks stange and they will walk away. When I first looked at the DC-16, I never gave it a chance. It didn't matter what great features it had, I didn't bother to look.

However when the DS-16 was announced. Suddenly I was interested in seeing what was under the hood. I didn't have the negative knee jerk reaction I had when I saw the DC-16 and I gave it a chance and dug deeper to see what it was all about.

Now that the DS-16's are available. I expect the DC-16's sales will be increasingly rare.

I'm waiting for the shipping notification supposedly this week to put my DS-16 on the list so as of now it's still:

DC-16 = 6

DS-16 = 16

It's funny that I choose DC-16 over DS-16 for exactly that reason

I'm tired of seeing that, year after year, Tx manufactures are releasing pratically same transmitters again and again without (enough) innovative changes (I'm talking to you, Futaba...), while other comsuer technologies are changing rapidly around us. When I saw DC-16, I was almost immediatly attracted by its exotic (kind of) design. After I looked at its spec and feature set. I have made my mind that it'll be my next Tx.

To be fair, both DC-16 and DS-16 are unique design comparing with existing transmitters. I guess I just more like to try different stuff.

I remember I had the same feeling too when I saw Goblin helicoptor the first time. It's so unique (at least unique enough to my knowledge) that makes me fall in love with it right away

I think the trend here has a lot to do with pinchers and thumbers more than anything.
If you look at the same thread in Europe the count is DS-16 = 50 to DC-16 = 114 as of now.

People in the US go more for the thumb friendly radio because most people here fly thumb. The trend is reversed in Europe for the obvious reason too.

Some catching up to do here

DC-16 = 6

DS -16= 16

You don't think it has anything to do with the DC-16 being available in Europe for a longer period of time?

I believe the DS-16 is just playing catchup over there and will surpass the DC-16 sales pretty quickly.

You might be right on that one, it is a factor I did not consider.

Actually if I wasn't so useless with my thumb only on a Tx I would probably get a DS just to play with the accelerometer. They should put one on the DC I would twist and turn my body just to make it work.

I've always been a pincher and I'm using the DS with long sticks. Just the way I've always done it with previous "handheld" transmitters. I love the three position flight mode switch installed on the left stick!

I'm using my DS-16 as a pincher and it works great for that!

I started flying with thumbs, the guy showing me saw how useless, I was and made me switch to pinched. That did it.

I was using a tray before in my JR days, so a DS-16 with a tray would be a bit redundant.

And by the way, I thought your were going for thumbs ?

I've been trying it out. I'm not sure if I will make the transition.

It doesn't count but look what the nice Purolator guy brought me.

I couldn't wait for the CentralBox so got myself a R18 to play with, nice even longer antennas will make it nice to route in big models. ( iPhone for size) nice compact Rx, personally I like the plugs on top for planks.

What is underneath Only people in Europe can look at it.

But back to our program

DC-16 = 7

DS-16 = 18
