Default Vx1e log help

Hi,
A friend of mine had a glitch in the air, he said the elevator pulled back on him twice quickly, he was hovering.

After the quick landing I inspected the heli and saw the DSM2 sats were blinking. No static wire was installed...

I'm guessing a static hit?

it looks a lot like it was a signal loss where are your satellites located? I had the same issue sort of which cause 2 crashes. Do you have any pics of your satellite placement?

His sat placement isn't the best, one is on the outer edge of the frame but the other is on the inside wall on the cut outs in the 6HV ULT.

Default sat placement

for some reason with this unit it seems that the satellite placement is more important then other flybarless units or I've been lucky in the past . I have since moved the satellites so the active antenna which is the left side is out in the open air and I've had no issues since. Also in the logging my antenna changes have been greatly reduced.

I had a crash with my X3 with the sat on the belly plate.

Moved it to the extra tail servo frame cut out but now think I will add a sat to the boom to play it safe.

Default sat change

No worries, it's not unusual to see a few changes.

That is a very good number. I think up to 15-20 changes in a 3d flight is a good number.

Antenna switching is fine. You dont want the packet loss or signal interruption.

Not so sure frequent switching is fine. This thread: https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=538820

"Yes I did notice that someone told that and I was just trying to explain the situation. The Vortex can only use what the sats provide.

The joys of Spektrum... one works, one doesn't, one loses bind, one takes forever to link to the TX and its never clear why."
