White chocolate,

Try this method and see if when making adjustments you see the link compensation working both sides.

Alternative Method for adjusting Link Compensation: At mid stick give full right roll and note angle of swashplate relative to the main shaft then move to min and max pitch and set Link Compensation Low and High Ail so the swashplate stays at a constant angle toward the end points. Adjust +- value if needed. Do the same for Elevator.

I say toward the end points as a high value, say 30 or 50 will not have an affect and could cause the swash angle to reverse. It will look like the angle changes a lot toward min and and max pitch as you move collective. The reason the angle changes in the swashplate is due to the round servo wheels and the less movement (relative to the rod link) you have the further the servo moves towards its end point. Set max ATV throws to 155 for ccpm servos as Eric suggests.

I am sure it is in the setup somewhere. I tried mine on a few different models and the compensation appears to work fine. I really don't need much of anything for my setups, so normally I don't even take the time to work though the menu. If I do, the ends get a bit more true but I don't think it is that much of a big deal for 3D flying at least IMO.

Rodney, is there anything else that is not working with your radio? I will be happy to help you out at an event when I see you. I would not let that menu bother you much as you may or may not even notice the difference in the air. The change is pretty minor as long as the linkages are setup true and the ratio's are right. I normally don't even set up the menu unless I am having problems with something.

Hope we get it figured out. I have seen mine not work in my 14 but it was due to other issues with my setup. This may or may not have anything to do with that.

Heli flies good without it as you stated, but it should work. Just want to let everyone know everthing has issues in some form or another. John Benario looked at it toda. (Quote) It appears not to be working. He went thru and checked a few things, not spending a great amount of time on it. We checked against and 14mz again and it works fine. So it would not be in the model setup, but the Transmitter programing. And also the Predator could benifit form this program.

Iam not sure Eric knows what you are talking about Rodney because even on teh Ma machines it makes the swash square when putting in cyclic and pitch inputs

?

I use a cyclic ring. I checked the menu function both Pos and Neg pitch and it seems to work as advertised.

I got the impression Bobby Watts is also working normal.

Don't know where the issue is at.

You need to talk to Mr. Bobby Watts. I have seen his machine. He spent some time on it and I believe it will be the best flying machine he has ever owned. The swash is perfect as perfect can get. His radio works, unlike mine. And he will tell you the M/A machine can benefit from this program as well.

? I may not understand.

The radio works on standard programing. If the updates are the same (same software) the radio's are just machines running the programs. They should work the same. Is the software updates the same in both radio's?

All Eccpm can benefit from the Swash detail. That is why the menu is there.

When I am getting ready for competitions I will do though the menu's and adjust my heli's. For day to day flying I notice little difference and doubt most would notice the difference. Most 3D flying is just not precise enough. The HUGE difference is with the 12Z and 14MZ system and the way it transfers information.

Also keep in mind the servo's do wear and you will need to update that swash detail screen every 3-4 gallons to really keep things dialed in. Hopefully you guys can get your menu's working right.

Call from whom? And, where's the update? The only one listed on FFC is the 05-10-06 which I thought someone had already tried it and still had the problem.

Eric,

I noticed in my 9z over last years winter in addition to the servo pots wearing the transmitter gimbals or pots can also wear and so you'll be needing to tweak your setup for this reason. I assume the 12/14 gimbals are better from the 9 but how does one calibrate the new transmitters without sending into Futaba?

There were people at the Chattanooga event who had their swash detail fully working on their 12Z's. A couple of them said the latest update fixed the problem... I have a 14, so I am not sure if this has been verified or not.

Need a flash card and a card reader to do the updates. Card should be about $20 and card reader about $20.
