Default Tbe

Hey I was wondering if someone could help me shortcut some digging and reading and tell me what some common cause of tbo are. I've got a bit in a used MSR that I bought and am not sure how to tame it.

Rebuild the rotor head. New links, flybar, blade grips, feathering shaft, main rotor head. antirotation coller and that doesn't help the blades and possibly the swashplate. TBE is usually caused by sloppiness in the rotor head.

Before you spend money on new parts check the flybat is moving freely and that your blades are loose enough so they only just fall under their own weight.

The thing most likley to have worn is the flybar, that's what I would change first. My MSR has over 40 flying hours on it and the flybar is the only thing I have changed.

Over tightening the blades in the grips will only cause bad vibrations.

TBE is only caused by sloppiness in the rotor head usually cause by the links and the balls they snap onto.

Yup yhis is what really helped on my new msr, after all else was checked (swash bearing seated, no resistance around flybar, no imbalances, nothing bent)

Tighten blades (just until you feel the screw starting to resist). Hold heli sideways, blades horizontal. Very very slowly untighten each until it falls under it's own weight, but no more.

I didn't think this was so important but turned out it was. Heli is very light (like, 30 grams) so any small thing will modify it's behaviour.

I had done all the usual TBE removal measures and it still acted like it was having TBE issues. Turns out it was just the rotor wash bouncing off the walls of the small room I was testing in.
