Horizon is sending me out a laundry list of parts to get this bird back in the air. I'm still not pleased as they shouldn't sell a bird that needs to be strengthened before normal flight. I'm not a 3D smack pilot...The shaft snapped during the top portion of a big loop. I could read "EDGE" on the blades as it plummeted nose first. If you've ordered a Fusuno canopy then you know the loss of $60 after shipping.

I'll tape this canopy up as it was a fantastic visual aid for orientation at long distances.

FYI, Horizon stated they have changed the alloy for the main shaft, but I'd still recommend the frame stiffener as I'm living proof that it can happen to you...I'm surprised that Lynx or MH hasn't made a titanium version yet.

In case anyone is wondering, the Edge blades are still perfect

I had not planned on the canopy. My son and I went to Hobbytown today. When I saw the canopy I just had to have it.

Very nice looking 300X! Those skids look to really stand out.

I had to order some yellow tail blades for it. I hope they match up.

If only a 130 size could be something similar, that'd be the nuts too!...

Both of those are really nice looking canopies ! It's so nice having several options for canopies now. It wasn't that long ago that we had very few to choose from !

Got some stuff in the mail..microheli 450 low profile skids. Thinking of painting the struts black and leaving the tubes polished

Cool! Really like mine on my 450X! Very low profile and stable!

But the orange is a bit too pale. Might be a good idea to RIT dye them more orange (or black)...

Don't paint, it'll just flake off... even lexan paint...

@longhammer

It's difficult to tell from a photograph, but I kinda think the orange on the skids matches great with the orange on the canopy. It looks pretty sweet to me.

Just my .02

+1 for me also ! I think it looks pretty good ! It's sometimes hard to tell with pictures, but it does seem to match the canopy !
I have the regular 450 skids on mine, but I really like the low profile look a lot. I want to get a set of those now !

They are Superskids 400 http://www.super-skids.com/superskids400.htm I love them! being a newbie I’ve had several hard landings/crashes and the skids hold up well. I did bend a skid on one nasty crash and broke the frame where they mount. Spare parts are available from the company and they are very quick to ship.

They are not a direct fit but it’s easy to modify them.

http://www.super-skids.com/superskids400.htm tried to post yesterday but it didn't go through so just in case here it is again. They work great, not a direct bolt on need to modify it. every easy to do.
