Default Best 450 Night Blades

I hear that the align night blades have bad batteries.

Can someone please recommend an alternative?

I have looked at the DIY threads and they seem to be a lot of work.

I am looking for a simple alternative for the first go. Once i have my night rig working, i'll look at making my DIY blades.

I don't know of anybody other than Align who makes them. The situation with 430mm blades isn't much better (one additional choice: Torsion blades for $140).

You could always do a quick DIY and just attach a new battery on the root of the blades with a cable going to the existing charging/switching port on the blades. As you probably know, plugging the charger cable in backwards will light the blades; this is the same idea, only with a lipo.

Best 450 night blades are MS Composit, but they are hard to find.

And I'll bet they'd be really expensive. I noticed that they make 420mm blades for a 500 sized heli, but they're $155 a pair. Ouch!

On the other hand, my DIYs cost me considerably less and they fly great.

It appears that Align may have quit making them. I checked ReadyHeli, HeliDirect, and Heliproz and none of them show *any* Align night blades.

DIYs on a 450 are VERY hard to do and IMO the MS Composits fly the best out of the ones for 450's I have tried.

Torsion night blades in 430mm suck as well...

That may be a case where you mount the battery to the head button and run wires to the blades.

Apparently, the entire line of Torsion night blades are crap. I heard similar complaints from people running them on a 700.

Actually, most of the ones my buddy and I built had batteries on the blade, much easier.

That's the way I did the 430s for my Atom 500. They came out really well and required no balancing at all (I was careful to measure everything the same on both blades).

Sorry to get this off track. I looked for MS Composit blades at a few US online shops and they only went down to 420mm.

+1. Great looking blades. Around $100 for a set isn't cheap, but they look awesome.

Is the illumination all one color? That's not a good thing IMO. I rely on the color scheme to play a part in telling me orientation.

I was amazed to find that the 420mm versions were only $80.

Grab one if you can use it. Hk is funny. sometimes they have their pricing messed up or just on sale but not stating it. It may jump up on price quickly.
