I hope they will offer an exchange service (old tail blades for new) (and not just for the USA)

Did you just quote that with a straight face?

Haha! Yeah, I have to admit it was hard. But in this case it's not an upgrade, it's a part that just doesn't work on a lot of the stock helis, and Align has said not to use them if they cause the problem.

Yeah, I totally agree but I'm not holding my breath.

In saying that, Align are doing similar with motors but that's only because another manufacture 'annoyed(them)', so to speak.

i know this is 700 forum but its on topic.
after crash i got my fusion 50 back together first flight hit idle up
and loud tail hum.
i was checking out this thread and thought it must be the torque tube.
went ahead and put a third bearing in no change.
then i found this video of logo 500 belt drive with the exact same humming sound.
[ame]http://youtu.be/-aUrasDcHQk[/ame]
so it doesnt seem torque tube related.
ive changed out my gears and tail shaft didnt help,i guess ill try different blades

For those running three bearings on the tt what spacing are you running? Does it really matter as long as the four sections are all a different length?

I had the exact same problem with my Logo 500 SE, Def had nothing to do with the TT.

I installed the 500 mainshaft bearings in my TT-bearingholders, and its solid. No hum here at any headspeed, even with carbon-boom.

I did the same- with four torque tube bearings each with an Align 500 mainshaft bearing. Definitely tighter fit in the boom. I didn't have my original Align tail blades, but the Rail blades were fine up to 2150 rpm. For grins, I tried the KBDD blades that caused massive vibrations before. No change... these heavy blades just don't work at all. The one thing I find very odd is that after spooling down, you can see one of the KBDD blades is leading more than the other- yet they are balanced perfectly according to my Kohl balancer.

according to my digital scale (down to 1/100th of an ounce) my original align blades were EXACTLY the same weight as my Edge 105's.. Not sure if mine are oddballs, or if the align blade weight issue is just a rumor..

I have no problems at all with align blades running any hs. I did get the vibs after my carbon boom got a slight crack in it. Changed it out and vib was gone. It actually cracked under the boom support mount. Its never been crashed so I guess it was from flying.

Dino, do you know when the new blades will be available? Or are you still at testing stage?

Can someone tell me if the dfc trex 700 tail shaft length is bigger than the old trex 700? If greater I think this is the problem. Excuse me my google translator english.

ok let me keep things clear

the new shaft is longer by a 1/8 that is not the cause of the tail hum

tail blades that are to heavy are the problem the new Align tail blades are 5 grms per tail blade no hum when you have a heavy tail blade one will lag when you load the tail causing it to go out of track and hum starts and thats when things go bad

The new tail shaft was and upgrade that we felt should be done with the new tail ratio on the E and N we also increased the strength of the tail case and with the new v2 tail grips added more to the spinning mass which in turn you need to keep the tails blades light its all part of what we do at Align there is no other Company that evolves its products like we do and make sure that all the newest stuff goes in that box.

Thanks Dino for ruining it for me

I was waiting for someone to try 6 or more torque tube bearings

I tried explaining what you said but i pretty much was put in the corner in time out for stating what you have said and said before. It's been kinda comical seeing some of these ideas and wasted money. You have explained it very well Dino! I'll shut up now since I'm not being helpful.

Replace the paddle tail looks a lot like putting bearing in tail boom because both act on the symptoms and not the cause. The blades were not bad suddenly, there was a change in the design of the heli. I understand that it is difficult to Align assume an error that harmed many people. Dino, thank you for your patience, as I follow your comments on this topic for a long time and I am witness to their education, congratulations and thank you.

Thanks for the post, Dino, but what you say doesn't explain why I can now fly the old Align tail blades at any RPM without hum. All I did was fit stiffer TT bearing holders and move the rear bearing forward 30mm.

I'd rather have a fix that allows me to run any tail blades, rather than be limited to having to use the few 5g tail blades that are around.

I second that because I have some sweet lime green KBDD blades that are useless right now.
