I do advertising/marketing for a living. While I would never advise a client to name something like this, I will give it to them, it is memorable and people will be talking about it.

But Ralf holding Will even remotely responsible for China being lax on IP law? I guess if you can't beat up the bully, go bully someone else!

This all happened when HK first made a flybarless unit and called it the same name as the Mikado flybarless unit. Ralf, John and Jen Greko met with me in my RV at IRCHA 2009 with Ralf's demands regarding Mikado's intentions. Since then, me and my staff have had to change the name of the HK name.

Since I think the HK version sucked they basically died out, but the wording of what Mikado wanted is based on name trademarks and other more technical things. That is it. Game over.

I would not have HK advertising here because they do not meet the standards I set for our advertisers. How much do you think they would pay for a top banner like Empire RC has on HF? HHAHAHAHAHA if it was a million dollars, I would not take it. If you guys had any idea of what has been offered in the past, I bet it would surprise you. Why do you think I still have my day job and do HF and try to be there for my family all three. So I don't have to take it. I do HF because I want to not because I have to and the money has never run me and it is not going to start now. People who say that are FOS. I do it to help people learn to fly helis and promote this AWESOME Hobby/Sport!

Enough for now HF Brothers and sisters but as far as copies of Mikado IP, we cannot have. That is what my attorney has advised based on what was presented and I am going to follow his advice.

It is not China IP law it is infringements on trademarks Mikado owns and other IP they have. Not able to discuss specifics and would have to research it to find exactly everything covered. It was all legit and my attorney knows what he is talking about.

Its a rip off of the VBar...reverse engineered hardware. Things like this should be illegal in my opinion and shame on HobbyKing for selling it. :/

Is this being marketed under the, "There's no such thing as bad publicity" moto?

I tried the Hobbyking GA-250 which I understood was a Spartan clone. I could never get it to work.

I own a VBar. I have another heli to convert and the price of the VBar is making me look at alternatives. Sooner or later they're going to have to give up their premium price. I guess if you consider they're on sale at RediHeli for $219 then you could say they're feeling the price pressure.

Maybe I'll try a Robird.

I didn't think the VBar used MEMs?
