It depends on which ine you get. There are two different wall thicknesses now.

I was actually referring to the diameter not the wall thickness. My mistake.

I've not been seeing the alternate boom in the parts listings in the shops in a whle. Just the .6mm one at this time. Did they eliminate the other? What was the wall thickness anyway? I've only replaced the boom once, and I don't recall a difference.

Correction here...running 13t, not 12t.

Original is .8mm, .6mm is same stock as 6U so maybe they are just consolidating to keep only one size on hand.

Makes sense. If I were to upgrade the old girl to the Chronos edition, and I am not sure on this, mind you, I might need to see a boom that matches the new landing gear when I look aft...

I've been considering carbon for mine. There's many places you can order 25mm by 1000mm. It will be significantly lighter than the current aluminum thicker one. About same weight as .6 aluminum boom but with 1mm thick walls and probably stiffer.

I think he was referring to the longer carbon. You can find it all over eBay, mostly from China. Just type in 25 x1000 carbon tube. You can find it in the US but its spendy. I also recently found out that the logo 800 extreme boom is compatable.

Ah. Right. Sorry.

I ordered one on eBay just last weekend for my 700N. I required a matte finish to match my frames.

Try here:

Are we a bit CDO (OCD with the letters in the proper order)?

Am I? Didn't think so. I have a 700N with matte carbon frames. I ordered a matte finish boom to match them.

I liked the glossy finish tube, as I fig'd others would want to match the 7HV/Chronos glossy frames.

Did I mess up something along the way? I just have really liked the matte finish. I shows crap alot less than glossy finish. Looks different too. Sort of more unique.

The operative word was "required". If you had said "wanted" then I wouldn't have razzed you about it.

Isn't a 2mm wall thickness very thick. I found a place with 0.7 wall thickness specifically for helicopters.

The wall thickness is only 1mm: 1mm wall + 23mm ID + 1mm wall = 25mm OD.

rob, let me know how long it takes for your tube to show up and how good the quality is. i want a few of those for all three of my compass helis.

oh, btw, doesnt the trex 700n have a smaller diameter boom? like 22mm? the 25mm would be for the compass ultimate helis.

nevermind, im sure you ordered the 22mm and was just referring to the 25mm for compass
