Default Gear ratio/Headspeed - G4/.91hz-r

The gear ratio on the G4 is 7,929
The recomended rpm unloaded on the .91hz i've read is 16000 (so 15000 when loaded. Is this correct?).

16000/7,929 gives a headspeed of 2017 rpm.

Is the optimal headspeed 2017 rpm from the governor?

The recomended HS on the Trex 700n/.91hz is 1950 with a 8,2 gear ratio (16000/8,2=1951)
Higher HS pulls more power, that may influence on what works best.

Edit posted in wrong forum I don't have a raptor I don't like giving advice on something I don't fly.. Sorry 700n is also 8.2 and I got lost

I tried 2000rpm on that motor + Hatori pipe it doesn't sit in the sweet spot very well.. It does a better job at 1850 - 1950 than at 2000 and it seems to like 1950 the best.. I personally like very high headspeed but the motor doesn't on this gearing

With that gear ratio I would run it at 2,000 headspeed, putting the engine right around 16,000. 1950 works great on the Trex 700 as you stated with the 8.2 to 1 gear ratio.

I run mine in and around 1850 (sport flyer with a little 3D).

My question is what headspeed will make the motor work at its peak performance

I would suggest to test it yourself for best results. Try different head speeds and see where the motor is happiest. Careful not too use too much pitch. 11 - 13 degrees should be ok depending on HS. I run 13 degrees at 1850 with the redline 11 motor. 2000 I go down to 11 degrees.

I tested your settings and really liked em! Will keep it like that!

Thanks Marco!
