Me too. I'll have to see how two batts works for awhile. I may actually buy a Pulse as my third battery just to see how they compare against the Glaciers.

I've still got those three beater batteries that came with the heli that I can use for short periods, but the cell voltage variance and puffing is enough that I'm concerned about charging them, and may just can them to play it safe.

If you have smaller helis, you could use the tired X5 packs to power a charger when at the field.

+1 I do this, same concept, bought my X5 used including 2 lipos (yay!) then i realized they were so tired they were barely flyable for 2min, now I use them to power my icharger 4010duo at the field, EC5 -> EC5! I get 3 charges of my 2200mAh 3S 450 batteries out of each 6S 4000mAh pack.

You can fly HK batteries if you are not going to smack your heli around. If you want to smack 3d then I would suggest not doing it. you can get away with it but your batteries won't last.

Also, whatever you get, don't forget to break in your batteries.

If you want to go to cheaper batteries, switch over to a 12s X5. If you are clever you can do this for minimal cost through teh FS forums.

A set of batteries for me is about $45. And i have over 100 cycles on my Nanotechs of some hard flying with no sign of slowing down.
