Question G4 & E720 Bearing Blocks - Soft

A number of people in Australia have had vertical play in the mainshaft post crash repair
Most people have simply elongated the bolt holes in the carbon frame
so they can reposition the bearing blocks to eliminate the play
But we've come to understand that the problem is bent bearing blocks
A machinist straightened one set in a press and said they were very soft

Anybody else here encountered this problem?

Do we need to give some constructive feedback to TT?

Good find guys

I had some vertical play in my E720 after a crash. It wasn't much and like you said, you can either elongate the holes or shim it. I personally haven't seen any after effects of removing the play by either one of the suggested. I think if it's bad enough or after a few crashes you may have to either straighten them or replace them. As long as they dont bend in flight, im Happy In a crash? I feel every heli is different. Some will damage bearing blocks but the main shaft is good, others you may bend main shafts, main rotor grips ect.. but the bearing blocks survive.

Not sure what TT can do. If they strengthen them, it adds weight. That's more than likely the reason they are how they are. Its also such a wide frame set too and that doesn't help.

Any one else have this issue that can share their thoughts?

If enough people complain, I'm sure KDE will notice and produce a nice replacement part.
