Default HSG-5084MG a real buzz kill

So I had a stock Align servo on my Trex 450 just quit on me one day and decided the Hitec brand of servo would be a good match. I have used the servo for only about 10 or so flights and now it has given up as well. I read in one of the posts here that they need to be regululated down to 5v. That would have been a nice thing to know before I lost control of the tail and buried a somewhat nice Furion 450(the trex was transformed to a Furion 450). I thought it was a previous crash that may have done some funkyness to the servo, but not after reading about the 5084 here. Honestly, can anyone make a servo that is worth the flippn money we have to pay for them?
I mean it isn't like the tail servo doesn't work for you...it does..just keep operating the POS for a while, like a preflight and then takeoff. It is only now that it will stop working properly. Maybe those folks should just change their name to LOTEC. I like it better.
