This kit is "high quality".
The manual are awesome, it's made of thick paper and the drawings are user-friendly.

Very rigid frames made of very good carbon fibre, good plastic parts and beautiful alloy bearing holders completes the stages 1 and 2 of the constuction.

Now starts phase 3:

During the phase 5 i broke a tail linkage; yes i'm a dumb. So for not compromise all my work and wait a week for spares i thought to modify the tail pitch plate assy.
I found a couple of links compatible, only longer, this makes me reverse the tail rotor rotation (TDR style now..).
Waiting for the piece i will try to fly like this.

Servo mounting was rather laborious, expecially wiring.
However i did it, and seems good...

The swashplate is awesome

I used MolyKote EM-30L on gears, this lowered the friction

The head can be phased, i set it neutral.

Ball links were on the tight side, so i used a specific tool to make them fit properly.

Ok, it's time to do electric setup. Should not be too long, i preventively zeroed servos assignig them opportune value of su trim.

Then i will sold connectors on Koby and find the best place fot in into the frame.

Ok, work is aimed to the end; cannot fly today, maybe tomorrow.

Kontronik Koby is too large to be fitted inside of the frame so, as per manual advice, i put it on the front side.
First flights will done using Edge blades that are 315mm center to tip instead of Hirobo's 325 center to tip. Stock blades are beautiful!

Setup:
Kontronik Koby 40 - governor on
Hirobo motor - kv?
Pinion 15T Revco
MKS DS92
MKS DS 95i
Align GP780
EDGE 325
EDGE Tail blades

Curve 1 flat 40%
Curve 2 flat 50%
Curve 3 flat 60%
Collective pitch +/- 14°

I will post my impressions after flight, so stay tuned....

I was not totally satisfied by cable wiring, so i did it better.
Reciever plate can be mounted in different way, so it's possible to find the best position for the reciever.

Today i had a couple of flights comparing EMBLA with my TRex pro.
I set Scorpion 2221-8 motor on both, 15T on Hirobo and 14 on Align.
Governor on for 2750-3000-3250 rpm on EMBLA; 2900-3100-3400 on TRex.
14° collective - 10° cyclic EMBLA; 12° - 9° TRex.

So, Hirobo at max rpm is faster, quicker, more stable than Align.
At lower rpm EMBLA is very quiet, fly straight, is smooth.
In every condition EMBLA have more collective autority than TRex.

Helis have almost same weight, Align is lighter for 40 grams of difference.

Marty
buy it, you will not be disappointed.

Hirobo did this 450 in "join-venture" with Thunder Tiger, some parts are same of Mini Titan V2 (gears, belt, boom, braces,....), so you can buy spares cheaper than Hirobo's....

Glad to see an Embla 450 build thread and I'm happy that you like it. I have yet to build mine. Hearing from your experience makes me want to start building it as well. Just so you know the spare parts for the Embla 450 is not expensive just because it's a Hirobo brand. They are around the price as the Thunder Tiger Mini Titan spare parts. Hirobo made sure that the owners of the Embla isn't short handed just because of the cost of repair.

Enjoy!!!

Nice side by side comparison to the pro.. Enjoyed this thread and glad you built the traditional flybar model! The blade grip mixing arm setup is what i like to see.
To this date ive flown many 450 sized helis and thought the trex 450 pro was the best flying out of all of them. The Embla is on my list for my next 450

Today i tryed some sport flight at 2800 rpm (42% throttle); i left my timer as per 3D, 4 minutes, at the end in the pack still were 40% of charge.....

I thought it was more unstable with green paddles and uniball in center of seesaw, but it's not; sometimes i was thinking to fly flybarless..
