i think i have to get a bvetter lipo charger,i curently have tha turnigy accucell 6 and the Thunder Ac6. when i charge my 6c 3300 lipos the chargers get pretty hot,so i will be having to charge 5000 MAH 6s. i can imagine how hot they will get on those, what you guys recommend?

i just got a i charger and its great. my ac6 took 2 hours to charge and balance my 6cell batterys, when charign a 6 cell you only get 2.2 amps max charge rate since its only a 50 watt charger.

i charger 206b takes about 9min to charge a 3300 6 cell at 2C it and 10 or 15 min to balance it.... so just say 30 min and it charges one, i can parallel 2 of them... it is a 300 watt charger and can charge up to 20 amps. i also got the 350 watt i charger power supply. cost me around 200 bucks for the charger and power supply

it would take you 111 watts to charge one 5000 6cell battery at 1C at 2C you would need 222 watts or you could parallel charge 2 5000mah batterys at 222watts. a 300 watt charger is probably the lowest you want to go with.

quick question.

is it ok to couple a lipo batt (or cut and join together) wires to make the battery cable longer for a battery? does it reduce the voltage?. i bought this 6s 3000 mah 40c batt and the cable was kinda short so i added 3 inches to the positive cable and 3 inches of negative cable with the same gauge wire.

so is that ok to do?

3" isn't anything to worry about, it won't have any perceivable effect on voltage drop or resistance so long as you use the same gauge wire that is coming off of the cells.

Just make sure your solder job is perfect and covered with heat shrink tubing.

Am I going to regret it? I am new to the 500 and am looking for basic hovering and light flying...you think I went to big...Thoughts?

Those batteries will be fine. You will probably need to drop the battery tray to get them to fit and too get the cg correct.

How much more flight time does everyone get with 3300 30c (150 x 43 x 45mm) http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...dProduct=15005 compared to 2650 30c http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=8917?

Do the 2650 30c fit without mods? 140 x 45 x 36mm

And lastly, what is the distance between the frame sides on the Trex 500 esp? I'm still waiting for mine to come in, but would like to order a couple of batteries to have when it comes it.

Thanks everyone

can anyone please tell me the steps of rudder (tail) tracking.

this came about because i was doing a upside down hover and i pushed the negative to come out of the hover and also pushed forward on the elevator and the tail did not stay locked in, it moved to the side. so someone told me that i needed to track the tail and im new at that.

so if someone could tell me the steps to my gyro can be locked in all the time.

thanks in advance.

I get about 3 min more of sport flying with a 3300 vs a 2650.

i think the biggest battery you are gonna fit is the voltz 3700mah ita about the size and weight of a turnegy 3300mah... if you can get 6 min out of a 3000mah i would expect to get 8-10 min of flight time off one of those 3700mah if you are not flying hard 3D

not sure what brand you bought but i really doubt a 4000 will fit.

in general 3300's are usually the biggest you can fit size and weight wise. the voltz batterys are small and light for the amount of mah they have, much lighter and more compact that other brands that have the same amount of MAH even their 4200 is probably a bit much for the 500 so i doubt the 4000 mah you have will fit and they will probably be too heavy.

I'm waiting for my TREX 500 to arrive. I'm shopping for things I'll need to make it fly. I have a few lipos for my Monster truck but they are mostly 5000 mah or more. Except for a pair of Zippy-H 30C 3500 mah 4S packs which I don't use anymore in the truck. I thought of splitting them to make one 6S lipo for the TREX 500. I'm just wondering if it would fit, the final dimension including a new shrink would be 150mm X 50mm X 40mm.

Hi, I am also new to helis and have just ordered a T-Rex 500e kit.

I am looking at getting the 6s lipos from hobbyking.

I just really want the largest one you can fit without any mods as I am just starting out with helis.

So dose anyone have a link to hobbyking with the largest battery that will fit as at the moment i don't have any idea until the heli arrives.
It would be nice to have at least one battery ready for when the kit arrives.

Cheers.

this battery is probably too heavy to fly with if you want good preformance, i am not saying you shold fly with a battery like this but since people want to know what is the biggest battery that will fit. if you have the old style frame this is not going to work, if you have the newer ESP frame it will work, not sure about the stock canopy since i have the EX canopy witch is a little bigger, but if this will fit there is no reason a 3300 will not fit with the new style frame and a stock canopy
