I've got a Kosmik 160, serial # 308 and it updated fine.

It has to be after number 285 because that was my highest # and it would not update.

Chuck is working on it to see if he can fix the update before we have to send off to Germany.

All depends when they were sold and if they were sent back for the recall notice. Shops may have had stock that they sent back to be updated at the factory. v3.1 you should have no issues.

If anyone is unsure just look at the top of a log and it will say your current version or simply plug it in to start the update process and it will pop up what version boot loader, Progdisc and Kosmik you have

Default Kosmik Firmware V3.2 is out

Completed the update.
Had a nervous couple minutes waiting while the progdisk and kosmik flashed away and the pc interface said not responding.

It's good timing too, I should have my pyro 800-48 comp on 14S with kosmik 200 operational this weekend.
I have a feeling this combo could give the 10kw number a nudge, my current maximum peak is 6.5kw with pyro 700.

Do not be surprised... after the update to 3.02 your LogView/DataExplorer/.. whatever will deny to eat your log files anymore.

Kontronik has not bothered that their customers can read/view the log files. Other did.
So why should they not just bring a change that all leads to absurdity?

See.

They were kind enough to provide a new ini file I the update package.
I was going to play with it once I created some log files to eat, but if the generator has been updated, that makes it easy

I was seeing right around 10kw with the 800-48 and the 742mm aggressor blades.
In flight performance was good on 713mm, but a bit soft on the 742's. Need more motor for the big blades.
Kontronik needs to get some heli friendly winds out in the 850...

Yes, Stephan did the change already, and he did it regardless of my message to him (already). I didn't notice that they have added a 14th value "Ipeak" (I called it "ImotPeak") although I saw the INI file in their update package (didn't check the file).

Stephan added a selector box "<=3.01|3.02".

The file generator is here.

You have to replace the device definition (add a new one) that your LogView can read log files from the 3.02. Copy the output file from the file generator (.ini) to %appdata%\logview\geraete\openformat\dev-file-name-of-your-choice.ini

Yep, the variable %appdata% works for every Windows release.

If you want to see Fahrenheit in place of Celsius.
If you want to see your RPM and not "house numbers". The KOSMIK gives RPM 2-pole-normalized, you have to divide by half your pole count to get the right motor RPM. You have on top to divide by your gear ratio to get head speed.

--> Means, modifications in the device description file (.ini) for LogView.

The file generator does that for you.

Finally... some help! Espirt has Kosmik 160's and 200's in stock and I was not able to find the 160's anywhere, so many thanks Danny!

As for my units, Charles/Kontronik USA said they have to go back and is checking on a turnaround time for me. Not sure what Germany will do, but I can tell you he has really put in an effort to help me.

I would be delighted with 15 days.

Charles|Kontronik USA told me to expect a month or more, unless I misunderstood him, and that would take me into flying season and both of them were on new winter builds... so yeah, total bummer to have two new machines down after all winter without flying.

I know the feeling got my kosmik december and have not used it due to problems even though my new heli was ready to go, over a month seems a bit long what if you post it direct yourself?

I can't post it direct at this point because I already sent them to K-USA, and I would assume he has sent them off.

I sent my Kosmik back thru Ready Heli (But not for the firmware fix but to get checked out for the problem the firmware fixes

Anyway

RH sent it out on 2/1 They got it back on 2/19 and it showed up here a couple of days later.

So all in all probably about a 3 week turnaround (Though it was slowed down a bit because the folks looking at it had gone to the various trade fares and I had it upgraded to the Kool Kosmik while it was out)

I just emailed Charles to see if they have been shipped off and if so we will see if I get a 3-week turn. Maybe it will be quicker because it is shipping from a known source. Your turnaround is very encouraging! Many thanks.
