The open source plus HeliBug Power 460 provided a great platform for this scale project. The power of the engine / clutch / RC style cooling has removed many of the issues I have had with other gasser conversions

With the reduced head speed you also loose revs on the tail so the best tail authority came from a Trex 500 DFC head with 180mm tail blades

Also stuck with the 14T pinion from the original Trex 700 and the gear ratio seems to have found a good balance with this motor - the Bisson Muffler is quiet and after 5 minutes of hovering (the heli weights 18kg) the engine is just warm and it has plenty of power

I still need to put another couple of tanks though with some gentle flying and will then venture into some bigger circuits

Thanks to Ali for all the help and great service - I have just bought another full setup and am looking for another 1/4 scale body!

Here is mine.

Helibug 700 converted from 700 DFC. TRM 270TT motor, RJX muffler, align 615 and 655 servos, hobbywing gyro, A123 custom pack, and powerbug generator not installed yet.

Currently on 15th tank still breaking in, and thanks to Azalin for mentioning Malorie's setup, it flies very nice afterwards. Thanks Ali for making such a great conversion, it has become my favorite bird, haven't flown electric much since.

I wanted to do the RJX mod.... I haven't found time to do it yet.
